Ricky Burns facebook status saying "big fight will hopefully be announced soon"

well with the way ******/Bunce/Lillis/Billy have been throwing hints left right and center that Ricky Burns is getting a massive fight soon, let's hope it doesn't disappoint, I don't wanna get excited for nothing

 

Not sure but hopefully it's an opponent that gets him cut some slack on here, it's been pretty brutal some of the stick he has been getting lately.

Doesn't look like the scheduling will allow for Broner so ideally Vasquez. If not, Demarco would do.

 

Id be happy with Demarco or somebody of similar standing.

 

I've been really curious with the way Frank has been talking about Ricky lately, he's really been throwing hints about a big fight that is almost signed and sealed...but with Frank you never know what a "big fight" is to him.

I think the fact that Ricky and Billy are clearly excited about it too can only be a good thing

By having this little delay, they're setting themselves up for a fall I think.

If they'd gone with the January date, they could have brought in a bus driver and justified it (genuinely) with a lack of notice to get a decent opponent in.

By saying we'll wait, people will expect a better quality man in the opposite corner.

If Burns was 22 or 37 it wouldn't be so ridiculous, but he's 29 and in the form of his life, having come much further than most observers ever reckoned he'd get to - so make the most of it!

Vasquez hopefully. Not many big fights at 135 lbs Abril, Bogere are fighting for the WBA, Rees and Broner are fighting for the WBC.

Demarco, Linares and Thompson wouldn't be bad fights.
