I believe he does, simply outbox. None of Pernell's opponents can deal with May's style of defense. A Chavez, Whitaker, Trinidad, Vasquez, etc etc. None of them has shown the ability to deal with someone like Floyd Mayweather Jr

    Stop it. Mayweather can't lose.

He always comes back from adversity, always rises to the occasion. He owns Southpaws.

Mayweather past prime fighting a prime, young, strong Tito loses...and is probably stopped. He's way too small. Even though Ramirez is way slower, that would be a really decent fight.

Trinidad is the only one that worries me. Even more so if Mayweather fights him at the same stage in his career as when Sweet Pea fought Tito.

If he did, he'd have a far better collection of wins than what he has now.

Chavez and Nelson are stupendously greater and better than Corrales, Castillo, etc.
McGirt, Vasquez, '97 Oscar, Trinidad all better than anybody he's fought at 147+.

You can only fight your contemporaries.

Floyd has done that. It's not his fault Mosley/DLH avoided him like the plague 7-8 years ago when Floyd was calling them out. Morales was avoiding him like the plague.

FFS floyd 130 was calling out DLH/Mosley at 147. Which other 130 now does that?

    DLH waiting
    MOSLEY DENTIST/Family Vacation
    Pacquiao refusal to take ODST
    Margaritto cheating

Show me where I've ever said he didn't.

I'm telling you straight up. You want to pretend he'd walk through it undefeated. Diego Corrales is no longer his best win. Not even close. :good

I'm just saying. I really believe that he would walk through Pernell's resume undefeated or at least very close to it.

None of his opponents have shown any skills that would pose a problem to Floyd's style.

Pernell vs Floyd would be a toss up though, although it would probably be a 70-30 swing to Floyd. Floyds too big, too skilled.

Would definitely be funny to see Floyd fighting Roger in his 12th professional fight. Floyd's a great deal better than his uncle who was a class fighter, but he was taking on the likes of Felipe Garcia and Angelo Nunez at that point.

Anyway, No. If he fights that Oscar and that Tito at 33/35 years old, there's going to be a serious problem. Julio Cesar Chavez never showed the ability to cut the ring off and bring pressure at a higher level than Jose Luis Castillo? He's probably twice the fighter. McGirt would be highly competitive, technical fights. Julio Cesar Vasquez is interesting due to the size advantage he'd hold - dude was hardly a bum beating the likes of Winky Wright, Aaron Davis, Javier Castillejo. Pernell never belonged at 154 and neither does Floyd. Vasquez at that weight is a much bigger challenge than '07 Oscar or '12 Cotto.
