Out of Hagler, Leonard, Hearns and Duran? Would Pac give them the luxury of being able to weigh in at the weight limit like he did Bradley and Marquez, or would he make them drain for an advantage, like he did with Cotto and tried with Mosley?

Would he fight them at all? Your take .

They'd need years to build a stadium for the Hearns fight

  3. I don't see why he wouldn't fight Leonard, Hearns, or Duran at 147.

Imagining these matchups gives me nightmares though.

Vs. Leonard or Duran PAC would prob be the B-Side?
    (Anyone agree?)

Pac wouldn't have moved up to welterweight if Hearns and Leonard were there which isn't even a dig at pac. It would have beeb sensible to keep him at a lower weight rather than against guys who can go up and dominate at weights far above 147. Hell, he prob wouldn't have gone to 140 with Pryor there. Duran murders him af LW in a fair contest though.

As for Hagler don't be ridiculous. Although Hagler could have easily made LMW considering he used to walk around at the MW limit.

Freddie sees how Tommy fought while drained against Ray at 145 and demands a catchweight of 142.

    Same day weigh-in.

RING interview with Hearns from Jan 1982.

R: You weighed 145 pounds for the fight, surprisingly light isn't it?

H: People think just because I'm tall and have a big upperbody that I should be heavier and that I have problems making 147 pounds. Let me set the record straight right now. I don't have any problems making 147 pounds. I think I proved that by coming in at 145.

R: Might you have overtrained or de-hydrated from making the weight?

H: I couldn't have been de-hydrated. I told you, I made the weight naturally. I didn't have to starve myself. I ate like I always eat before a fight. As for overtraining, that couldn't have been possible. When a fighter overtrains, he gets tired and is not strong during a bout. I never got tired and felt very strong.

If Tommy says it's so, I can't really argue. He sure was quick to move up after that fight, though, and his punch resistance and recovery seemed to be lacking in that Leonard fight. He was too good on that night to have one punch change the fight twice.

    Well it's 2013, after all.

There hasn't been one legitimate win in the history of the sport.

He wasn't willing to fight Cotto at that weight.

If Pacquiao were active in that era, his management would keep him to 140. Pacquiao himself probably wouldn't give a **** and would go in even if he was outmatched, but Arum and Roach know it'd be crazy to charge into that Welterweight division. And of course, there's no way Pac or Floyd could ever fight Hagler, what with Hagler being a career middleweight.

Well depending on when he caught Duran a catchweight might not even be relevant.
