Nah, Manny would be too quick for him.

Manny adds much more variety to his game when fighting fellow southpaws. That right check-hook would be landing all night.
Valero's only chance would be to go all out and brawl, that would play right into pacquiao's faster hands and shorter punches.

Valero would have been a problem 135-140lbs to this day had he not gone nuts.
The man was a savage inside the ring & would have matched well Vs. anyone around today.

I didn't get to see much of Valero but from what I have seen of him I think pacquiao beats him. Pacman has a very good chin. He got sparked with a good shot recently but he's taken clean shots from big punchers and fought through it. Valero seemed to throw very wide punches, I see pacman punching through them with straighter shots and hurting him.

Like I said I only saw a few valero fights so would those of you picking him care to elaborate as to why?

No, Pacquiao was simply a better fighter than Valero. They would've gone at it, but Pacquiao was quicker of hand and foot and more skilled and adept at timing guys with leaky defenses. He'd end up with a TKO victory in the late rounds. Damn shame Valero was a ****ed up person who left his daughters without parents. That's the biggest tragedy, but he would've fit in great at 135-140 these days.

 

I agree. Valero was not over-the-hill or coming off consecutive losses, like most/all of Manny's opponents.

Valero pulls a JMM on Pac if Manny had fought him. Instead he moved up in weight to fight old guys with marquee names :rofl
