    duran at the lower weights is the only 1 he could fight because hands of stone would have killed him:dead

    Well Cotto was 146 for Clottey, did that stop Pac from dragging Cotto down to 145? (They tried for 142 originally)

    matters when. It is hard to say if Manny did the catchweight because of weight or sometime advantage. For Duran he could have fought without one if he got Duran near 1978-1979. For Hearns it is tough since Hearns minimum weight was 147 as a pro. Leonard the same. Duran was the only one who in a certain time frame he could have fought, but Duran was a bigger guy than Pacman.

    It's very simple, Cotto came before Clottey. Before Cotto Pac had no reason to think he could deal with a top level welter. Even though Cotto was at 145, it was easy enough he realized he could.
