Fair enough but he doesn't look that good regardless of his KD's of Salido

When you think of the so called cans popular Australian fighters have got rich on the back of Katsidis should qualify for ten bouts of this standard before copping any **** on these Forums . The kid give the fighting to be champion route a prolonged crack before he looked for retirement cabbage .

Didn't Mundine do that with Ottke early doors and then Kessler a little later before feasting on cans forever after :think

Riser I know Geale has archived more on paper but for me Katsidis is THE Australian fighter of the decade , my only gripe regarding the bloke is I never got to see him live and that's my fault & loss not his , the kid is carved out of the same oak the old time Aussie fighters were and a credit to every man Jack of you .

Fair point mate, hes fought some great fighters and although he lost most of his big fights he always had a go. Thats why I find it hard to believe the mainstream never took to him, Aussies love a battler who will have a go. Either way Ive enjoyed his career more than any fighter since Tszyu.

I think Australia will gradually come to love him if he starts to fight more down under , I don't know what Aussie tv is like but I hazard a guess that if a mini series or dare I say it a film crew followed him around for a year as a reality tv program the kid would get his just rewards and Australians in general would be kicking themselves for allowing him to fly under their radar for so long without the support of His countrymen . These tv ex's have ****ed up badly IMO .

After viewing Salido/Haya a few times, I doubt it'll be a walk in the park for Katz. Salido, figuring Haya was hard work, was clearly aiming in region of kidneys.
Katz is center ring trader, wheres Haya is light on his feet & will promptly find a safer area in the ring when sensing danger.

Agree, only positive is at least its not a weight mismatch on kats' part ALA mensah fight . that dude was double the size of him. Dont think ppl realise how big mensah was that night .

How do you think the fight will sell ticket-wise?

The joint would've been packed if Katz/Haya was on or not. But now, no doubt it'll be declared full house in a week & a bit. Victorians have never seen Katz live, so they'll make sure they get tix.

I scored it a draw against Mensah, and thought if you shifted the closest round or two in either direction it ought to have been Katsidis who deserved it if anybody, but the amount he struggled with the very pedestrian Ghanaian tells me it's suicidal for him to step back up to his previous level of competition ever again. (Marquez, Guerrero, Burns...even Mitchell in a rematch)

Hopefully he takes a few well-earned soft touches at home with his resume capped by W's, and rides off into the sunset.

Weng has an ugly record, but he's no shrinking violet.

This will be solid action, value for money. (but still under the reasonably "safe" ceiling for Mick)
