I think he said something like "it was not an easy fight for me, injury or not", indicating that Byrd's style was giving him some trouble too. I believe Vitali really does have more trouble with defensively minded skilled fighters than with bangers, so bringing Byrd up here is not that irrelevant.

jisi is a bit annoying though, true. I wonder if she really is a teenage girl. Would make sense with this being enamored with such a handsome gentleman and role model that Wlad aspires to be :yep

And David Haye is this kind of fighter with !!!!!! good punching power which Byrd was not.

Haye will fight on the back foot to slow vitali down and exhaust him before going to all out assault in the last 3rounds, finishing him late on.

Haye will probably try and do over 12 rounds what Solis did for 1 (minus the part where he got dropped and his knee imploded). Try and counter his jab, lead with single power shots from the outside. Exit. Repeat.

Dunno if he has the stamina to do that against Vitali for the whole fight. He might not punch as hard these days but his work rate for a heavy is very high, higher than Wlads. Unlike Wlad, Vitali actually will actually tries to counter and punish you if you make mistakes coming in instead of just backing off or grabbing hold. On the other hand he is definately more hittable than his bro.

Haye should win tbh. A prime athlete should not lose to an old 40+ year old in serious decline.

    And your point?

Maybe YOU should read it again since your comprehension isn't up to par.

Well consider the fact that Vitali took on Byrd on 7 days notice, he didn't have a full camp to prepare for him.....he was supposed to fight Razor Ruddock, quite a different style of fighter. No doubt that Vitali would say that Byrd's style was difficult. Still, Vitali was beating him handily even while injured until he bowed out.

That said, it IS irrelevant for 2 reasons. The Byrd fight as I mentioned was 13 years ago, Vitali has far more experience since then. Second, Haye is not a defensive minded fighter by any sense. He has fast feet, but very poor footwork and balance and keeps his left hand low and is quite easy to hit more often than not.

Very good analysis, mate. I do agree with the bit I highlighted. Always thought that if he swings his arms like an ape the way he did at times when fighting Wlad, that Vitali would punish him with hooks and his weird ass jab-uppercut type punch

Haye will take the fight in the later rounds and steal a close decision.

Can Haye afford to punch widly like this if he fights Vitali? Examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elkj-nroI40

    Round 1 - 2:20
    Round 2 - 3:27, 3:43
    Round 5 - 7:56
    Round 6 - 8:43
    Round 8 - 10:06
Round 9 - 11:33 (Wlad finally stays in and punishes Haye, something which Vitali would probably do a lot)
And a few in the final round.

Wlad matched Haye's speed throughout this fight. Yes he took his safety first approach as usual, but his athleticism really shone through and he was far and away the better fighter ("injury" or not to Haye)
