Yeah Im gonna watch 36 minutes of SVEN FKEN OTTKE in slow mo. :rofl Anyone with a pair of eyes knows that fight was a huge robbery.
I admitted that the ref was a complete disgrace, but Reid did not do enough to win. Sven won it in the end.
I dont care what you admit. It doesnt matter. Reid won the fight and was robbed by the judges. Also Ottke was being told the scorecards between rounds. Reid did not have this unfair advantage.
You obviously did not watch the fight thoroughly because if you did, you would have scored it similarly to how I scored it. 114-113 Ottke. Crisp boxing, good defense and good ring generalship. He fought it out in the end and pulled throughl.
Hell no ! Why would you want me to suffer another 36 min (probably more like 90min in slow mo) watching THAT fight ? :dead
In the 6th Reid got warned for heabutts and had a point docked - which he in no way did. He also famously had a knockdown disallowed for some reason. The fight was one of the most disgraceful performances by a ref I've seen and I think you've got a big job on your hands trying to defend it. That ref also went on to judge Froch-Kessler and failed to give Froch any of the first 10 rounds, if I recall. He's clearly a Sauerland favourite.
Not interesting. Reid was not that good, and his two claims to a bit of fame is losing to a calzaghe who fought with one hand, and being in an even fight with Ottke (who was heavily supported by the referee). Ottke was not very good, and neither was Reid. So no big surprise that they would have an even fight. But of course appalling that the referee was partial... he should have never been allowed in the ring again.
Let's keep the Kessler fight out of it. Froch has conceded defeat (finally), the punch stats showed that Kessler landed about 150 punches to Froch's 90, all three judges scored it for Kessler... and on and on... so let us not pretend 1 judge had anything to do with anything.
Rewatched it in SLOW MOTION again, my scorecard was perfect. 114-113 Ottke. Reid did not DO ENOUGH to win the fight, Ottke pulled it off.
The problem is not that Ottke won. There could be made a case for that. The problem is that the referee was horribly biased and making it difficult for Reid to win. The same more or less by the way happened to Reid when he fought Lacy years later. But then again Reid was never really that good.
I acknowledge that the ref was a tad biased this fight but Reid sucks, had the lead but squandered it and let Ottke back into the fight. Ottke pulled it off.
