Whitaker or Mayweather - Most skilled?

Pea, no real argument for Mayweather here imo.

 

Also there's been a lot more Whitaker - Mayweather threads recently, why?

 

I fee Pea was by far the better ring general and had a more fluid offense. They are certainly close in skill level but I feel Whitaker had more tools at his disposal.

 

Floyd with the more sound guard and has better balance. A better straight/cross too, but that's all I'd give him.

Whitaker as the better general, better jabber, better off the backfoot, better head & upperbody movement, better on the inside, probably better punch placement (mostly to the body - he was superb at that), and better with feints (particularly at not falling for them). I'd also give him the edge as a combination puncher and would say that he was clearly just flat out better at integrating his offense with his defense.

So yeah, Pea.

 

Bit like picking a favourite son for me.
You want it to be your younger son but you know the oldest is academically superb,if a bit less fun.

Floyd definitely knows how to win and is a better fighter than Whitaker. Whitaker has a better resume though.

Whitaker with better pure skills. Floyd better balance/right hand/IQ/Adaptability. Whitaker better jab/left cross/left hand/Fighting on the back foot

Not falling for feints is the trademark of a great fighter. Both Whitaker and Chavez both amaze most not when they move in reaction to a punch, but when they stand perfectly still as one falls just short of hitting their mark. It's especially impressive on the inside, their peripheral vision must have been something else.
