What happened to Joe's KO punch against Farr? :yep

And Walcott shouldn't be classed as a mover. He moved but not very fast and would also stand in the pocket with Louis.

The point is that it's not a random "what if." Conn damn near beat Louis and I think there are others who would do what Conn did better than Conn. Again, we have several examples of Louis being outboxed and, yes, knocked out by smaller fighters. But we're supposed to believe he walks through everyone because he beat Tony Galento and Primo Carnera? I'm not buying it.

Same thing that happened to Tyson against Tillis. Some guys you can't stop. Just one of those days.

As for Walcott; I can't think of a single heavyweight who could dance for 15 straight rounds.

Louis was beaten once in his prime. And he was outboxed once past his prime. He was never in a Chavez-Taylor situation.

I'm looking at styles. I don't know what you're doing. I'm not here to protect the fragile psyches of delusional old time nutbags. Far from it. :hey :bbb

You truly think that getting stopped on accumulation by a 6'3 230lb Buster Douglas, while zombiefied and coming off of the worst training camp of your life, where you are getting knocked out by sparring partners. Is worse than getting outboxed and outfought by a middleweight? Regardless of how great that fighter is?

Well Louis was engaged in like his seventh title defense in seven months. He was pretty worn down himself.

Anyway I like having rusak around. He's a modernist.

What in tarnation are you talking about saying Louis getting outfought by Billy Conn, a middleweight ? Billy Conn was a lightheavyweight ,one of the greatest ever who had great success beating heavyweights as Lee Savold, Bob Pastor, Melio Bettina, Gunnar Barlund, etc. He woulkd be no walk in the park for anyone and Louis,a little past his peak eventually did the job...

Is it really that hard to imagine a harder hitting Billy Conn? I mean really. It's not like I'm suggesting, imagine a faster Roy Jones.

Haha. I can just imagine Louis plodding forward and Douglas strafing him with brutal combos. Douglas by KO. You heard it here first.

You know he didn't really beat Walcott in the first fight. He also nearly lost to a light-hitting middleweight/LHW in his prime. There is no way that Tyson or Vlad could get away with this. Absolutely no way.

Spinks was one of the greatest light heavies of all time too. Joe should take some tips.

Mike's condition in and leading up to that fight was abysmal and i don't think that the fight is representative of anything other than cocaine, whores and a propensity towards insanity make not for a great fight prep.

Since you brought up Buster Douglas, this is good, because I think this is an example of something Louis would have trouble with, to put it mildy. Douglas had a good jab, lateral movement, power, and combos. Just imagine Louis in Tyson's place. What exactly is keeping Louis' head from getting knocked off?

    Nothing really.

People say how shot Tyson was, while never mentioning how good Douglas was that night.
