Shane Mosley believes Canelo hits about as hard as Mayweather. HBO commentators love to mention how you can hear the impact of his shots. Then again he has also failed or struggled to stop smaller opponents: Shane (iron chin but shot at the time), Matt Hatton (far from elite and been stopped before), Rhodes, etc. He impressively one punch KO'd shot Baldomir. It's clear that he loads up heavily on his shots. How good is his power?:think
He has sacrificed some power for speed. Id say he has a lot of pop and above average speed now. He doeant have ko power but accumilative and heavy handed but its his good timing and combinations that shuts his opponents down. I like him because he doesnt fight stupid, he was careful with Rhodes and Hatton because he did not want to make any mistakes. You can see him learning in there like how he experimented with the shoulder role vs Gomez. Definitely a student of the game.
I believe that he has descent respectable power, enough to maker you think twice about just walking in. With that being said, I believe that if he catches you in am exchange he can rock you and set you up to get stopped, EXCEPT.... he has the habit if not following up to stop to admire his work.
I think the jury is out too. If it was clear that he had great power, I would fully favor him over Mayweather. At this point, I think it's probably 50/50.
Canelo is too mean to let a lil guy pounce on him. Berto had that funny look on his face once Guerrero popped him in the mouth
Everytime Berto gets hit flush on the chin, he's rolling around the ring or holding on tight like a UFC homosexual.
saul was wearing 10 ounce gloves floyd was wearing 8 ounce gloves not a fair comparason and shane knows this
mayweather's accuracy is what makes his punches powerful. he hits u right on the button most of the time whereas canelo beats u up over the course of a few rounds.
Perhaps in Vegas, but Mayweather is slowing down. I do think Mayweather is on TRT because it is legal in Vegas and he did not disclose his medical records, but he's noticably slowing down. A guy with Canelo's size, skills, and combination punching is an incredibly tough fight for Mayweather at this point in his career. I'd say it's 50/50. I think Canelo can win this fight.
Shane is full of it. I don't think he knew how to explain it. It's not the only time he has said something stupid. It's obvious Canelo hits harder than May. He is also the bigger guy. Mosley said that they both have good snap. Maybe that's what he truly meant when he said they were about the same. Canelo has solid power. Like someone said here; enough to make you respect him. Canelo has the power that hurts. Maybe not One-Punch KO power but he can create damage.
