What does that even mean? If you're scoring 'points' it means you're landing punches and it's not like Lomachenko throws pitter pat shots.

I have. My point is if you outpoint your opponent and you're not throwing shoe shine punches then you are winning that fight, amateur or pro. Lomachenko throws plenty of body shots and has many stoppage victories, he's always well aware of the time in rounds, he knows when to fight every second of a round or when he can cruise.
That was essentially Lomachenko's pro debut so he paced himself and moved through the gears, when the fight was on the other night you were quick to say that Lomachenko wasn't looking good, you obviously have some sort of an agenda. Those rounds were scored pro style and he won every round. When he had Maxwell hurt in round 4 he would've stopped him if the standing 8-count wasn't in effect.
Lomachenko is simply not a point scoring fighter, you talk about him like he's Amir Khan. Lomachenko fights with a pro style, body shots and putting the hurt on.

Gotta laugh at the amount of scepticism some are displaying here, why do I get the impression that some of these sceptics would be a hell of a lot less sceptical if Lomachenko was American? People questioning his athleticism now??! WTF!! lol. The guy is extremely ****ing athletic and undeniably a very special talent indeed.

If winning nearly 400 amateur fights and incurring only one loss (I'll repeat that for you just in case you're struggling to grasp the magnitude of such a remarkable feat): incurring only ONE loss in almost 400 fights (which he later avenged), which came at the hands of an excellent fighter, Albert Selimov, a gold and bronze medalist at the World Amateur Championships and a 2x European champion no less, isn't an indicator that we're dealing something very special here then I don't know what the **** is.

He's fighting at the VERY highest level for ****'s sake, against the best amateurs each country has to offer, and facing every conceivable style and for the most part looking a million dollars doing it too. And let's not forget he hasn't fought in nearly six months or so and this was his FIRST time fighting without any head gear on too, never mind that he was facing an opponent who was A. far, far better than the stiffs prospects are fed to feast on for their first few fights, b. was much bigger than him, and C. was holding on for dear life every time Lomachenko got anywhere near him (like that wouldn't have hindered his ability to shine even more ala Hopkins-Calzaghe lol).

    Very well said sir :good
Even compared to someone like Rigondeaux there's a lot of skepticism with Lomachenko, I can't help to think it might be due to skin colour and stereotypes to do with athleticism...

    LOL.

You never put gloves on in your life, lefty. If you did, you would understand how difficult a task it is to be an undersized southpaw fighter or be an undersized orthadox fighter against a larger southpaw fighter.

You don't get the dynamics of boxing. Sure Lomenchenko looks good against that type of fighter, but that's hardly, Barrera, Cotto, Marquez, Morales, etc.

Whitaker and Pacquaio are also ATGs, yet you think Lomenchenko is better?

Explain Lomachenko's weaknesses then and how Broner can exploit them? The only valid reason for doubting Lomachenko against Broner would be the question mark of Lomachenko over 12 rounds. If you've seen the way Lomachenko trains you wouldn't think he'd ever have any stamina issues. Broner is very good but imo he's more unproven than Lomachenko. Broner has looked poor and has looked good, he's still a prospect really so I don't see why it's so unreasonable. If Broner went and beat Gamboa then that would be something, Broner is more style than substance at this point imo.

    Lomenchenko would beat Broner?

    :patsch

    :lol::lol::lol:

And this guy says I don't know **** about boxing. Broner is just about the worst possible matchup right now for Lomanchenko, yet you think he would beat him?

It's hardly a crazy concept that one of the greatest amatuers the worlds ever seen, one who has a style which should translate well to the pro game, could beat someone like Broner, whose hardly massively proven himself.

For what its worth if they fought over a 12 round fight tomorrow, i'd probably back Broner as he has the experience of the pro game, but if Lomachenko had say 18-24 months of experience in the pro ranks i don't think its inconcivable at all that he could beat him.

There are a lot of variables we need to find out with Lomachenko though, how good his chin is, stamina over the longer distance etc, which will only be answered in time, but with his skill set, its not exactly a mad idea that he can go very far in the sport.

    Thanks.

Sadly, I think you're probably right about that. People are so ****ing brainwashed these days they can't see the wood for the trees.

Better than Pac easily in terms of boxing skills. Variety of punches, balance, footwork, boxing iq then Lomachenko destroys him in every category. Lomachenko just needs the resume now. Pac is an ATG and I respect him for all the tough fighters he's fought but he's hardly a masterful boxer or technician. It's you who doesn't understand boxing, Lomachenko is not undersized and you claimed he's not athletic and doesn't have reflexes  You seem to think it's a game of rocks beats scissors. Lomachenko has fought and beaten every style of fighter from every country around the world. Oscar Valdez, the Mexican pro who is getting a lot of hype, Jose Ramirez - the American boxer signed up to Golden Boy, the career boxers from Cuba who fight from a young age and live the sport, the top Russians who beat everybody else in the world, the high performing Britains etc... Lomachenko has fought and beaten them all with his pro style, usually with ease.
Is being stupid on this board a full time job for you? You get blasted for your stupidity wherever you post, regardless of the subject. You need to STFU and learn.

Very level-headed post, I disagree with some things but I respect your point of view. I wouldn't think his chin is a problem, with his style we would've found out by now or had some indications during his am career. He did talk about being dropped once in a regional contest before stopping his opponent, he said it was a learning experience that taught him to focus for every second of every round as boxing is an unpredictable sport. If you watch his Olympic bout against Selimov you can see Lomachenko get nailed by a flush overhand left as he's moving in and he doesn't even blink, I have a feeling his chin is of the iron variety.

dealt with, you are setting yourself up for failure.

His punching is not near as crisp as Pacquaio's at this point, and his level of opposition hasn't gone beyond 5 rounds.

Wait until he gets in the ring with real pros and has to fight over 5 rounds.

    And you the difference?

That guy that Lomanchenko beat would have been lucky to make it out of third round against Pacquaio.

You have to add one fact in.
He was a substitute fighter. He was not in his 100%(Usyk also).
He replaced fighter at last minute, and could not finish his preparations to 100%

Of course Pac would've blasted that guy out within 3 rounds, weight difference not withstanding.
Lomachenko was feeling his opponent out and taking his time, he's not a headfirst aggressive guy like Pac, he's intelligently aggressive and works on different things in different fights.
Bump this thread in 3 years time when Lomachenko is p4p number 1 :good
