Rank him at 154 against others if his resume looks like this:
    W Lara-Vanes winner
W Floyd Mayweather (if Austin Trout turns out to just be too big for Floyd and Floyd hasn't slowed down too much - Floyd hasn't fought a top legit 154lber yet either)
    W Canelo Alvarez
    -----------------------
    Already achieved:
W Miguel Cotto - don't underrate the dude. This is a GREAT win for Trout.
    3 WBA title defenses

This resume is VERY possible for him to achieve.

    Top 154lbers:
Tommy Hearns, Mike McCallum, Terry Norris, Julian Jackson, Winky Wright, Julio Cesar Vasquez and others.

Golden Boy should feed Lara to Trout after Lara beats Vanes to help sell the Canelo-Trout fight if it don't happen this year, that resume could, wasn't Cotto 154 pounder you said Floyd hadn't fought a legit one.

That would be a really nice run and would have to rank him up with the best at 154.

Cotto is not a legit 154lber. He is a blown up welterweight who has only fought fighters who only really established their careers in weights lower than 154 before moving up.

If he consecutively beats Lara/Vanes II winner, Mayweather, and Alvarez, he will clearly be #1 (via impressive great wins and taking the mantle from Floyd directly). Unless, of course, somebody else were to accumulate wins which kept them ahead of him (Ward and Donaire likely).
