I remember not too long ago sky used to be the **** when it came to boxing. Friday fight night on nearly every week most of the big US shows on the Saturday night, it was great. But slowly but surely over the years their coverage has dwindled and ever since they signed exclusively with Hearn (Which i always thought was a bad idea, monopolizing is never good) Sky boxing has become crap. Hearn only has one World champ in his stable (Froch) who's only fought once this season so what we've been left with is a load of 'Eliminators' poor domestic cards, prizefighters and the odd international show.

They do have Ringside which is good n all but I'd rather watch boxing than a show about boxing. Their main competitor BoxNation is pissing all over them in terms of quality international cards from Germany and the US, they've brought us most of the big fights this season and continue to do so this January with all the big international cards like the New york show featuring GGG/Rosado, Garcia/Salido & Martinez/Burgos as well as Matthysse/Dallas card, Garcia/Judah card, Geale/Mundine card, Hernandez/Fields card and also some domestic shows.

This month sky are showing Yafai & the prizefighters anything else ? so what the **** has exactly happened to sky sports boxing ?

Those dastardly Hearns took over and I don't think It helped SKY decided to half the budget and dates for Boxing.

  3. BT came on the scene

When BT won the top package for football rights sky really dug deep to keep the rest of the games, as a result they have had to cut sports programs and costs, as i result boxing has suffered big time

Nope, not football - it was F1 that sucked up the Sky budget.

Is that what it was ? i figured they had some budget problems but i always thought boxing was one of their biggest earners next to Football & Cricket so they'd try to keep up their standards

The Sky monopoly wasn't good. In the long run it's better this way.

Im now paying £32 a month for sky sports, which was orignally 24.50 a few months ago.

The Premiership has become ****, the champions league is only good once the second round starts and boxing is almost non existent except for Jonny Nelson doing his journalism work placement.

    Really starting to resent it.

DFT, it was football mate, over 2 billion for three years coverage. F1 is only 25 mill a year.

And it wasnt BT, they bid for games sky couldnt bid for. The main concern for sky was Al jazeera
