Great fight. It could even prove to be harder than Broner. Vazquez is very underrated, he really could be the best lightweight in the world. Very clever and crafty.

Childish thing to say, anyone who says the word hater is an idiot, you are not American. Ricky and team Burns have rightly been criticized for not facing top opposition, we all just wanted to see Ricky in big fights.

Have a quick scan through this forum and there's nothing but threads criticising Nelson and Burns.

It was mooted that a big fight was in the works for Burns but it didn't stop the 'haters' piling in with more 'Burns has fought nothing but shite' type threads.

I dare say in a day or two it'll be back to the usual shite along the lines of 'Vasquez will demolish Burns' or 'Burns is ducking Broner' threads.

 

It's often gone beyond criticism, while Broner gets a pass for fighting a domestic-level journeyman. I really don't think Ricky's run has been that awful.

Katsidis and Mitchell were really solid wins and fun fights. And now, after the Christmas cancellation (which was clearly a stay-busy bout), he's facing arguably the best LW out there.

Finally, Burns doesn't just get a good fight, he gets a great fight.

Glad to see he's not content to fight bums after all. Burns can definitely beat Vasquez. Get that IBF belt and then let's get a HUGE unification fight with Broner on for the summer! :good
