    absolutely fantastic read JG! seldom will i read a long post word for word but that was a great read very well written and told an amazing story! thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts on a legend!

    Also a need to preserve his hands, cuz he usually had another fight coming the following week. Sometimes two fights. Breaking a knuckle back then could prove financially disastrous to fighters.

    Ahh, when boxing was an actual trade....
