spend a whole thread ignoring 'actual' reports and now resort too this. this is a disgusting act of insolence and continued foul practise. IF Boxing history depended on your whimsical research No cheated or forgetton fighters would have a shout. this is rediculous, absolutely childish and a further attempt to run away from Provided Sources... as I said you can't win with your types - you have rejected everything, pretended there was never any reports, and the voices of the Top people in boxing at the time mean absolutely nothing to you. FOUL - DQ'D
Ahhh, I get it, Gilroy was clearly a brilliant fighter but, admitting that he was likely screwed over and fought in a few divisions, he doesn't have the high end scalps to justifiably ranking him among Britain's greats, even if he might've proven it had he gotten the chance. Still, worthy of as much of a mention as he can get and as much exposure as is possible. Frank Wazza would've gotten him a WBO at super middle, easily done. I'd love to learn more about him, can we end the sinister overtones here and move on with some decent discussion? Or am I gonna' watch another fantastic historical slanging match go on with no chance of mediating?
I'd always wondered why I'd read about Gilroy being brilliant but couldn't really even say why with a bit of rudimentary digging. Even having read the sources (not the scrapbook yet admittedly) I'm not anymore convinced, sorry to say.
You are the one who made the personal insults not I . I haven't once insulted you. Please provide impartial reports by these, "Top People", on Gilroy that were not written by yourself then maybe, just maybe, you might be on the way to establishing some credibility. BTW I hope your book had a spell checker go over it before it was published ,as your posts do not inspire confidence in that department.
I think Roberto Elizondo kid is my dentist (he challenged Arguello for the WBC lightweight title). Should I ask him if his dad was a world class boxer?
No need for you to blow your Dad's trumpet his record speaks for itself ,in another era he would have been a world champion.:good
