Cano had Paulie dazed and confused and then preceded to beat his ass all across the ring. Cano is the same fighter that got his ass beat and tko'd by old ass Morales. Sorry but Paulie can't take punishment at 147 and it is clear he is in a rapid decline. Perfect fight for both, but I wouldn't say Paulie is the favorite, perfect 50/50 fight in my mind.
Paulie is past it as well. This fight is a past it figher fighting a shot fighter, in a fight that shouldnt be happening in the first place. People defending this fight, I mean I understand we want to support the fighters and all that. I like Malignaggi, but the fact is this is for a 'belt', and Im sick of the care free attitude fans have towards belt holders being allowed to have shitty fights. Using other shitty fights that have happened as an excuse. Chamions, even in this watered down era, should be held to a different standard. This fight would have been decent if Malignaggi didnt have a belt, but that he does makes this fight a farce. Anyways, as for the fight... who knows. If mosley has anything left at all he should win, but if he had anything left it would have been shown against canelo imo. Malignaggi, is past it himself, and was never elite to begin with. So who knows.... in reality I think its a close matchup, but I will taking Malignaggi to get a decision win against Mosley. I think him just letting his hands go while Mosley stutters and frowns will get him a close W on the cards.
I think Canelo is a bigger and arguably better fighter than Paulie ever was in his career. So to hold Shane to the Canelo performance is a little harsh. I agree it is a pathetic fight for Paulie to make as champ, but we know he is the worst beltholder in teh division and this is arguably a step up from the pathetic Hatton fight that was trying to be made.
Both of them shop worn busters is gonna embarrass boxing in general. What is it billed as; The Buster Bout.:smoke
What I ment from the Canelo fight isnt that he lost, but that Canelo is no defensive master, if Mosley was ever going to open up and go fo a W, it would have been against Canelo (granted, maybe canelos power made Mosley shell up, However I think its more likely that it was Mosleys reflexes and not being able to pull the trigger anymore) So what I should have said is, if he couldnt pull the trigger against a clear target like Canelo, I dont see him pulling it against anyone. I do realise perhaps it was Canelos offense that made Mosley not let go of his hands but if its his reflexes then I see Malignaggi winning just based on that alone. I can see Malignaggis jab and movement fustrating a Mosley who waits for a target that never appears (paulie is not as slick as people think, but if mosley is shot shot it wont matter) and simply getting outpointed in a lame fight. I was never in favor of the Hatton fight either.
The sanctioning bodies, the WBA in particular, have aggressively pissed away their small remaining amount of credibility in recent years. I for one am just plain done giving a **** since they clearly don't give one. Or to put it another way, I'm not going to get offended and go "How dare Paulie defile the sacred WBA title belt with this fight?!" when we know the WBA is perfectly happy to make a super/regular/interim joke out of the damn thing anyway. **** the belts.
i think they're both past it and have poor reflexes now but paulie has nothing to keep shane off of him and mosley still has power at least. cheering for paulie but picking mosley to stop him.
yeah but Mosley has fought better guys. Either way, Mosley and Judah are not top fighters now and both getting big fights now is great for them, and the guys they are fighting are beatable. I think Judah beating Garcia is more possible than Mosley beating Malignaggi.
Mosley is going to lose a wide UD . Possibly all 12 rnds . That breaks my heart admitting that because im a huge Sugar Shane Mosley fan .
