Vitali really has had only one competitive fight and he lost that one.

Two. Both Byrd and Lewis were competitive.

    This :good

A loss is a loss, there really is no argument.

As a result of TKO, or retiring because of injury, the scorecards become irrelevant.

The Byrd fight was not competitive. At all. Wasn't even close.

I agree, But Byrd was finding the mark in the last 2 or 3 rounds with 3 left to go

This is a big "if" - it was not a legal blow.

How did he do it? By missing a punch Byrd MADE him miss. Face it, a super middleweight made him quit.

Post proof that he did. Vits said he would get his title back and didn't. The burden to seek a rematch is on the loser, always has been.
