When reading through this forum I see alot of people use the words talented, skilled or some variation of these words. Could someone who uses them actually define them? feel free to use boxers as examples but please say why they are talented/skilled. I also don't want this to change into some sort of nation based debate.
Talent, for me, are physical attributes that can be sharpened but not skilled. So a talented fighter would be extremely fast fighter or an extremely powerful one, an extremelyl durable, whatever. Skill, for me, is a learned discipline - a technically perfect jab, exceptional arbitrary head movement, great countering. They do cross over - is timing skill or talent? Does someone dominate with their jab because it is perfect or is it because of those fast-twitch muscle fibres? SO unpicking the details is complicated. But those are my definitions.
They seem perfectly logical, do you think they are used correctly on here? I'm bracing myself for some yellow teeth comment.
