Boxing is the only sport where people discuss potential outcomes of current modern day athletes and their peers from 100 years ago.

Funny nobody does that in track & field, soccer, chess or tennis.

What "modern training and nutrition" was Ross Purrity using???

I still pick Joe Louis over Wlad. Joe Louis KO'd people as big as Wlad while being only 185-190.

Head to head or otherwise,Joe Louis was better.

Louis weak chin is a myth. Schmeling had to pound on him over and over to put him down.

Wlad thought Chisora would be to hard of a fight , how the **** does he beat Joe Louis.

With a neutral ref who doesn't allow fouling , Wlad gets knocked out in under 5 rounds.

Mormek was able to get inside repeatedly and got clinched and fouled 15 times in round 1.

When did Louis ever meet a puncher like Wladimir? :patsch
Most sparring partners and trainers all agree: Wlad hits the hardest.
According to Steward Wladimir is the single most powerful puncher ever/the one he ever trained.

If they aren't boxing with modern gloves Wlad his already extreme power would be even sharper.

Tell me how Louis is reaching Wladimir when he has disadvantages in footspeed and reach while he's not able to take Wlad his punches either.

They're both capable of KOing each other if they land flush, Wlad has the advantage of being able to land the first shots.

Actually they do it in chess all the time. In fact, nobody to this day has any clue as to who would win in a match between Fischer and Kasparov; and you will find plenty of experts who consider Capablanca the most naturally talented chess player in all of history.

Louis fought last about sixty years ago.

Arguments rage to this day as to whether or not Pele is better than Messi. It's easy to find people that think Maradonna is better than both.

Tennis and track and field have seen enormous leaps forwards in terms of the equipment they use AND has seen a massive increase in talent pool. Even still, events llike long jump that have had the least impact in terms of advancing equipment have crept forward by a tiny, tiny ammount.

Meanwhile, boxing has a hugely decreased talent pool and zero enhancements in terms of equipment that would enhance boxing skill.

When did Vlad ever meet a one-punch KO artist like Joe???

Vlad is SLOW...has limited stanima...drags his punches to his waist...and lacks HEART..

Consider how much better Joe is than the dreaded Ross Purrity...

Not all sparring partners agree. Israel Garcia said David Tua hit harder then Wlad.

"...having helped prepare world champions Wladimir Klitschko, John Ruiz and Olega Maskeav...his power is the hardest Garcia said of Tua."

My question was prompted by your insistance that Wlad, universally regarded as having a questionable chin, had "never been taking out with one punch". It's entirely relevant and no cause for smilie posting.

Louis had very reasonable footspeed when called upon to use it, but he rarely was - he didn't box with footspeed. Your determination to read their relative foot-speeds is a mis-calculation imo because, as it was in almost all Louis fights, it was not relevant.

Louis employs draw, feints and tricks to bait the opponent into space. He closes any gap in foot speed (and Wlad is no balley dancer) with these tricks - and they worked for a record number of defences.

This is why this fight is so interesting and so extremely difficult to predict. Wlad holds the aces in terms of style here, but hsi vulnerability means he only has to be wrong once.

Only based upon your video-game anlaysis of their styles in attributes. It might actually be true - but not for the reasons you are outlining, which are false.

Are you trying to compare Purrity a journeyman to Louis the longest reigning HW champion in history? Do you think there has not been any improvements in training methods, strength and conditioning and nutrition in the past 60 years? :patsch

These sparring partners never sparred with Louis so that point is worthless.

Brewster went downstairs on Wlad early and had gassed out from only 3 body punches. A combo from Louis to head and body would absolutely shatter him.
