Jack Johnson is probably the best heavy in history.

Yes, his toughest fight because he had lost nearly all his physical gifts, and was forced to sit still and slug all night, winning because of an iron chin and a huge heart.

Frazier would have been annihilated by pre-exile Ali. Ali beat him 2 out of 3 as a shadow of his former self, he'd of humiliated Frazier in his prime.

The difference between Ali and Frazier is that Frazier has an Ali win on his resume, and absolutely nothing else. His resume is completely empty in terms of great fighters without Ali, he has rode his coattail all the way into the HoF. Ali still has much better wins without Frazier on his record, like Liston twice, and Foreman. Ali would be still be considered one of the greatest ever without Frazier, Frazier wouldn't even be mentioned in the discussion of greats without Ali, that is the difference.

Poster A: "Joe Frazier sucks. Ali was much better."

Poster B: "Who the **** did Ali beat?"

Poster A: "George Foreman, who beat Joe Frazier. Not to mention that Ali beat Frazier twice."

Poster B: "I thought that Joe Frazier sucked?"

    Poster A: "..."

Exactly, it doesn't hold. Especially amongst Heavyweights.

He's capable of handling every style and he's extremelly intelligent. Watch his fight with Willard. He fought in short, smart bursts, similiar to B HOP and then clinched. In contrast, he handled the best swarmer at the time very effectively with sharp uppercuts on the inside.

His defense on the way in was exceptional, and his defense on the backfoot was also great.

In addition, he had the uppercuts to deal with swarming fighters, and the quick straight punches, and the strong outside game to deal with boxers.

If you put him in today's era, he would be champion. In any era, he would be champion.

Ali gives him his toughest fight due to his movement.

    Wrong.

It's really easy to spin things in a circle to try to appear right, but that's not the case. I never said "Frazier sucks," I said he was extremely overrated, which is true. Stick to the facts here: Without Ali, what win does Frazier have to make him great? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. His entire legacy is based off going 1-2 with a completely dimished Ali.

Ali has other great wins on his resume

Foreman is the oldest legit HW champ in history.

Frazier's resume is the weakest of any HW considered great, period. He is 1-4 against ATGs, and has a collection of decent to bum fighters that fill out the rest of his record.

No he isn't top ten, his resume is paper thin. People overrate Joe to elevate Ali.

If Ali won, he would win by jabbing and moving, landing nothing of much consequence.

Johnson is the heavyweight B Hop. He is and was the smartest heavyweight boxer of all time.

If you read what he said, you could tell he had an intricate understanding of the game, that very few boxers, especially in today's era have.

He was also a great athlete and big and strong enough to deal with guys today.

    Who would beat him?

Ali, maybe Holmes. I'll give Tyson a chance, but the only one I'd favor over him is Ali.
