Check that thread out.I'm just trying to find the thread that posted the actual quote from his promoters and I'm 99% certain they said it was from the Scene, which must've been a mistake.I didn't check as they posted the actual quotes.

And read my posts in that thread. Not for the first time I think I was more than fair about Bute. And I did say that it was uncalled for to call him the "Hypejob of the decade"

I'll keep looking for the quote myself.

And during my search,I've just read that the rematch clause is only valid for the first half of the year.
I would only be paraphrasing but the quote I'm looking for had Bute's team saying it would not benefit Bute's career to seek the rematch with Froch.

I wasn't trying to **** on Bute Beastside,so I resent the implication.

Bute's promoters have stated they're not pursuing the Froch rematch. I seen it a while ago. I think he dipped his toe into the world class waters and it was a little too hot for him. Back to Canadia to fight for the housewives I'm guessing.

Can fault him though, it might have taken him 30 fights, but he at least tried fighting one live opponent and didn't hide away in Canada for his whole career.

How are you my good friend?:good

Did you happen to see the quote or deleted thread where Bedard said they didn't want the rematch?

I'm not happy at BB's implication that I was bullshitting about it,but I suppose I can see why he's doubting me as the thread was deleted.

Fine mate, just finished my exams a couple of hours ago. A bit exhausted to be honest as I haven't sleeped a lot the last 2 weeks.

I haven't seen a thread about it but I do remember an article on the scene or on RDS where Bedard was insinuating that they won't pursue the rematch as fiercly, at least for the moment. I don't believe they said they'll completely give it up though, as far as I remember the content of that article of course.

:good

(PS: I'll PM you in the coming days.)

He dealt with Bika, surprisingly easily. It should be a safe fight. Unless Froch, really wrecked him.

This ship still running? haha This is what happens when a pampered fighter finally jumps up in competiton instead of moving up gradually..

BUte went from fighting C level bums to an elite opposition in Froch and the obvious happened.

He got raped and will never recover.. Just as i always thought.

IM not sure he beats Allan Green..

The quote from his promoter was on the scene, at the end of the article.

Here is the whole quote. You can google search it.

"This is what the WBC spoke to us about. This is definitely a good option and it interests us. Nothing has been finalized, but I spoke with Lucian and he agrees with this direction. This is the best option for us at this time. Winning the WBC belt will present us with beautiful options........there would be a fight against Andre Ward, or a unification bout against Carl Froch," confirmed the president of InterBox, Jean Bédard in an interview with Gabriel Beland of La Presse.

I'm pretty sure Bute would be able to stop almighty Green, unlike Ward.

Well I must have read something from the deleted thread, which was clearly my mistake, but it wasn't that quote, and it was a reference to someone in Bute's camp saying it was not in Bute's best interests.
But since we're on the subject, the rematch was scheduled for March, and Bute doesn't want that does he?
Why would that be? Could it be that he hopes Carl gets old enough for him to be able to make a dent?

My OP wasn't trying to be shitty BB,and as I said on the Brit forum(think I may have posted the link earlier,or it may be another thread) the sooner some people realise that a rematch is the worst idea in the world for Bute,we can all move on and those of us who don't hate the guy can maybe start to appreciate him and accept the level that he's at.

Yes, he`s No. 4 in the world, there`s his level. The defeat he suffered only made clear the order between the best four in the world, nothing more. Let`s remember the discussion in the board of The Ring after that fight. Some said Bute has to go near bottom of Top ten, but was no real argument for that.Bute had at the time and had now clear victories against Johnson , Magee and Bika (all top ten at the time). No one could overpass him after the fight excepting Kessler.

I said it and repeat:at the time at the fight Froch showed such a motivation that even Ward could have been defeated. The entire career of the British was in balance and having a little child you can see the motivation.Let`s remember Froch avoided going in Canada and all top four were and still are undefeated in their turfs.

After all, Bute paid having a Canadian promoter because was admitted "he was not invited" in Super Six.Though, the same team took him at the the results he achieved. Is hard to say what would have happened if he would have accepted one the American offers he had in 2008 when his first contract with Interbox expired.

Bottom line: He was pushed to fight Froch outside despite the fact he was champion and paid the price.Who doesn`t recognize Ward was not afraid of losing to him after he conquered Super Six is biased. The British staff made all possible to turn all the odds with the his fighter:made the fight in his boxer`s home town and not to a stadium and establish a rigsize as small as possible. All the time the argument was:Froch doesn`t need to fight him.If Bute`s team would have refused, all top four other three fighters would have refused Bute until the end of his career. Let`s remember Kessler refused to go in Montreal and I doubt he hasn`t receive a decent offer and Ward refused to fight Bute even in Oakland despite his previous declarations.

Of course, this is not an excuse for losing that fight but shows (for who is not familiar with) how things are going in professional boxing.
