Evidently being discussed by Top Rank :think Very, very interesting. Assuming it goes down at 140... who would you pick?
Interesting matchup. Gamboa needs to be more active and needs more time to get grown into 140-147. Maybe his shots and speed won't be as effective. Either ways, I pick Bradley, still, interesting matchup. Gamboa still has a chance to pull it off, but I guess doesn't want to risk with Rios, Prescott, or Alvarado yet. He'll bring even more excitement thats for sure.
Well, it seems implausible at first, but then, there is only half an inch of height between them... still have a hard time believing this comes off. If it does, Timmy lands a counterpunch on wide-open Gamboa and KO's him. Yes, KO's him. And then rightfully gets little credit for beating a guy 3 weightclasses between them.
The key to this fight will be power. Bradley is hard to beat with his only flaw being he doesn't have power to KO guys. In this fight he will have the power to one punch KO Gamboa. Gamboa will have no technical or physical advantages in this fight. So over 12 I don't see how Gamboa can outbox Bradley and there is no way he can knock Bradley out. Bradley will be bigger, stronger, more powerful, have better boxing skill and technique, probably better stamina too. Expect this fight to look like Tito vs Hopkins all over again. or DLH vs Hopkins.
Gamboa has about as much of a chance as Paulie. At least Paulie has technical skill. I don't see how Gamboa with his horrible balance and telegraphed punches stands a chance in hell. He probably wont even be able to land a clean shot on Bradley the whole fight. He will probably head hunt and be wide open for counters all night. All Bradley has to do is counter him, time him, tie him up, and tired him out over 12 and we know Gamboa can't go 12 without getting tired. Pacquiao was tired after 12 and Gamboa isn't Pacquiao. Pacquiao hit Bradley with his best shots and Bradley walked through them, so Gamboa can't hurt Bradley. This fight will be fun though. Gamboa will throw a lot of punches, and miss, and it will make Bradley look really good in the same way Mayweather looked good vs a fighter like Hatton. Similar fight.
50 believe that Gamboa is superman..he just got his first fight @ 130 and he want him to jump two more weight classes and fight the undefeated champion in there..who is gonna be next? Vitaly klishcko?
I haven't seen any weight being discussed yet but I think we can safely assume Bradley won't go down below 140...
If Gamboa lets 50 even contemplate this he's equally dumb. I ripped apart the Gamboa-Rios fight and thought Gamboa's reaction was perfectly reasonable, but to then take this one would be the height of stupidity.
Bradley absolutely eats Gamboa up at 140. Gamboa doesn't have the chin to handle that big of a jump. Bradley isn't a big puncher but he'd ko Gamboa. It would be a smart move on Bradley's part but a bad one on Gamboa's.
Gamboa has technical ability on par, and arguably superior, to Malignaggi. People really exaggerate Gamboa's flaws after he looked as rusty as he was in his last fight. Remember that Gamboa has looked better against better fighters, which include Solis and Salido. Manny getting tired has no bearing on whether Gamboa would get tired. He's looked fine going 12 before. The issue here is the weight, first and foremost. Style-wise, it's an intriguing match-up. Gamboa can go in and out on the best in his division, but Bradley is much more experienced and well rounded than most of his opponents.
Bradley Ud. Bradley pretty much sonz most of the small guys. I can't realistically see anyone 140 or under beating him. Feel so bad for his career stall. Arum is wasting his prime years.
