Unfortunately, he doesn't meet the requirements. Mayweather wants inexperienced "hungry lions" to cash up on PPV quick and easy.

 

For May 4th? I think Mayweather is far more natural at 147lbs.....he is hardly a big WW. So he most probably prefers to fight there.

At 154lbs I think the reward has to be there for him, so he will go up for Canelo and he may well for Trout if he beats Canelo.

Mexicans get behind their fighters so Floyd vs Guerrero will probably do good numbers especially if supported by Canelo and Broner.

Black Americans don't support their own like that, so a less rewarding fight financially.

I have my fingers crossed right now. There is always a chance and it would be a big fight.

 

Floyd never takes on legitate threats, far to risky. smaller blown up or fading washed up opponants is more to floyds taste.

Duranimal is a big Duran fan, obviously, and he was talking about how Floyd refuses to take on legitimate threats and would much rather fight blown up or faded fighters instead. When Duran fought Barkley in '89 he was taking on a legitimate threat, a huge Middleweight, in the twilight of his career....and he chopped him down. I thought it was fitting.

 

Mayweather has options and already paid his dues as a young boxer. If he was to take a risk like this, a Sergio fight offers greater rewards.

 

Are you refering to Victor Ortiz? Take a look at his record. His previous 4 fights were Nate Campbell, Vivian Harris. Lamont Peterson and Andre Berto. Two past champions, one prospect and future champion and a reining champion. Add the Marcos Maidana fight and you have a prety experanced boxer.
