Problem is, the LHW division sucks. I guess Cleverly is a factor. Cloud would be like a mosquito buzzing around Kovalev, mildly annoying. Hopkins is now a circus act, and Dawson will never be the same after the Ward beat-down. Who else is there?

Imagine if Kovalev could bulk up a bit & move up to CW? How many great bouts could be made there? Imagine Kovalev-Chambers, or Kovalev-Hernandez?

I thought you said Campillo in fact would have had a better chance if this was his 13th professional fight :huh

Kovalev stops Cloud and Cleverly and dominates an over-the-hill Hopkins.

Now a fight with Bad Chad would be must see TV!

Whoever in that group is in with Kovalev is going to be in a world of hurt. I've seen a number of his fights and he's a damn terminator. His KO of Thompson (which I'm sure you've seen) was with a perfectly timed short right hand, not some big looping **** you'd expect from big-punching prospects. Real impressive. He has very solid punch placement and offensive skills.

Cloud was lucky to walk away with a win over Campillo just a year ago or so, doubt he is looking forward to face Kovalev any time soon

That wasn't the point I was making. I said his style hadn't changed all that much since then.

This version of him is older, and had lots more wear, and was coming off a year-long layoff - but none of that matters or takes away from the finality of what he proved. Kovalev would destroy any Campillo.

On top of that, Cloud is just awful. I'd like to see Kovalev against Pascal who is a boxer with a terrific chin and some serious power but with an entirely different style.

K-O-valev possibly the hardest puncher in the division can give any LHW a good fight

You're right, that would e a good match.

    - but I'd still love to see Kovalev at CW. Heck, he was 175 tonight, anyway, and 178 against Grover Young. In fact, he's been over 175 lbs in at least half of his pro bouts. How is he even a LHW?

    With Kovalev @ CW:

Lebedev wouldn't stand a chance, but it would be a spectacular, crowd-friendly win.

Marco Hype wouldn't last 90 seconds.

Chambers & Hernandez would make spectacular stylistic opponents,

Kovalev-Wlod would be an all out bomb-fest.

Every one of these fights would wow the casual & non-fans. If they were mostly on NBC, it would be a great boost for the sport as a whole.
