GGG would beat the hell out of that punching bag.

  2. Chavez would make Triple g retreat. The body size of Chavez is HUGE, Golovkin is a little midget. Jr would bully him easy. Plus Jr got one hell of a chin.

Copy and pasted from another thread with regards to Chavez Jr dealing with GGG's punches.

He may walk straight into them i highly doubt he'd be walking out the other side of those shots if you know what i mean. Chavez does have his shear size to try and impose but not a lot else, he doesnt hit that hard and is fairly basic in his approach. I can see GGG riding out a rough few early rounds trying to contend with Chavez's size and strength, as the contest progresses i think Golovkin takes advantage of Chavez's lack of subltely and PlanB. I think a key point that needs to be explored is that guys like Proksa and Rosado have the experience to try and box off the back foot and to try and outright survive, does Chavez? What happens when Chavez realises he cant just march forward into Golovkins shots because they hurt a little too much? I highly doubt he has the manouvability to box on the back foot or the experience to know when to stop marching forward. I think some peaple can be a little bit crazy with their love for Golovkin and the opponents they pick him over. However i think Chavez is definately a winnable bout and something they should target in the near future, shame Arum would stop it happening.

What ive also noticed is people's assumption that Chavez Jr would be able to bully and push back the smaller man simply because of his size and strength. GGG applies a very different kind of pressure to Chavez which involves putting the opponent on the back foot with superior footwork, balance and power. In other words his opponent doesnt get the chance to push him back because they either cant get close or they are too scared to do so. If his opponent does throw he covers up and then instantly reasserts his authority with hard, compact snapping hooks and uppercuts. That or he punches at the same time and jars his opponent onto the back foot again.

In the case of Jr you have a guy who will try and push you back, wear you down and throw to the body, he throws punches in bunches and relies on his brute strength to absorb anything that comes back. He would have serious problems dealing with the way Golovkin applies pressure because he cant simply step forward and absorb what comes back at him. Firstly when Chavez does begin throwing combinations he would be falling short as Golovkin is always positioned just out of his opponents reach, poised perfectly to either take a step back and make himself a very small target or to come back with hard vicious counters. Chavez i noticed only really throws if he is on the inside or will be positioned on the inside by the time he has stopped throwing. If he tries to throw his combinations to the body i see Golovkin crashing that left hook into his head or the ear more specifically to shut down that part of his offence. Golovkin has many strengths. The key in this bout is Golovkin's same time punching, specifically with the left hook, it quick and compact yet comes from an angle that peripheral vision simply wont pick up. Chavez Jr would be hit again and again with the same punches, his defence as we know lacks compared to his other strengths.

Another key point that is being somewhat ignored is how much damage the Martinez bout may have taken out of him, he was hit with some hellacious shots in there and was lucky Martinez through the majority of them straight down the pipe. If you ask me i think he may have a sizeable dent in that chin that Golovkin can fully exploit with his much lauded power. Another keynt is the weights, we know Chavez struggles immensly to make weight, its only a matter of time before the body starts showing distress signs signs such as poor stamina and reduced punch resistance.

    Prediction: Golovkin TKO/KO 10.

I could care less about who wins Chávez vs GGG, but the picture you posted means exactly nothing.

  6. As soon as he lets those hands go, Chavez threw Sergio down like a ragdoll. He was a shell thru the fight, he entered that ring being intimidated. On the rematch he'll have the confidence that he can batter Sergio up.

Oh well done, he decked a tired 38yr old fightr in the last round, who was incidently relying on one hand, did he not also tear a ligement in his knee. Is it not also the same Martinez who got stopped down at welterweight and has been floored on numerous occasions. Martinez proceeded to trade with Chavez for the rest of the round and Chavez couldnt do anything about it. Very impressive...

GGG would dominate Chavez Jr. I can't see GGG getting a KO though as Chavez is too strong, but GGG would take a wide UD.

    thats the fight i saw.

sergio broke his hand, blew out his knee, staples in his head and stitches in his eye.

thats not the body of someone that dominated an opponent for 11.5 rounds.

Yet he dominated his opponent for 11.5 rounds. :deal

And that says a lot about Chávez's boxing skills, he couldn't take out an old man with a broken hand, blown knee who needed staples in his head and stitches in his eye. :rofl

Its ridiculous the credit chavez gets for that last round, like some kind of moral victory or something cause he knocked down sergio. There is a reason chavez didnt throw anything vs sergio the whole fight, he had his ear muffs on because he didnt like getting tagged, what do you think happens with a heavier handed fighter in golovkin?

I'm telling you right now, and I won't make any future comments or replies on the matter, Chavez will ****ing stop GGG. GGG is a come forward fighter. I have yet to see him utilize any real elusiveness. JCC is built for come forward fighters; he looks like **** against lateral fighters (Sexy).

JCC stops GGG should the fight ever happen. And it will be in brutal fashion.
