****, back them days, it was Pavlik fans vs Calzombies. I ain't tryin' to say it had anything on the Pac/Floyd wars on here, but those threads would jump up to 20 + pages in no time. After I made that post, I logged off this mug until after the fight. I even had my ol' lady get on the cpu to make sure who won the next day (not that I had a real doubt, just was curious as to how bad it was). I watched the highlights man, and I seen Hops doin **** like twirlin' one hand (almost PopEye style) and then smack Kelly with the other one. I still say **** it, I ain't watchin' that ****.
BUT, I do believe you are 100% correct about it being one of Hops best performances. :deal ****, it had to be to beat THAT Kelly like that.
I just realized how off topic I been in my boy DBoozy's thread, so who you take from Pavlik of the Miranda fight vs GGG? I say Pavlik t/KO between 5 and 7. But I do enjoy watching GGG, just like everybody else.
I don't know man. Even Kelly at his best, was a straight up and down fighter. Crisp one, two's with a lot of power, but not a huge variety of punches. Just because the Kelly of that stage was at an elite level and GGG hasn't has that degree of comp yet, i'd have to pick Pavlik. But I could still see GGG hanging with and even getting the upset, with his patient counter punching style.
Not me. Only one's I could see beating that Kelly is Hops, Ward, and Dirrell. :yep (and none of them even in MW division, but the style is right......Hops with the Grand Master Craft, and Ward/Dirrell with the craft + insane athleticism)
I think Pavlik would have a very good chance of beating GGG. Had a nice jab and could throw accurate straights. Fighters who prefer to fight long have the best chance of beating GGG. Only problem I see for Pavlik is his tendency to mix it up. His chances could be maxinized via fighting on the backfoot here and there, especially if GGG tries to dug his way into middistance.
Indeed, I'm not a huge Hopkins fan...but I certainly respect him, but the Pavlik fight...man he looked ****ing awesome.
This but it could as easily end in a TKO for Pavlik. GGG has yet to have his chin truly tested and no one can dispute that Pavlik had a punch.
dirrell's elusiveness doesn't get results if he's too gunshy to actually win fights. corey spinks 101 watered down
