Actually, okay he was stopped a few times post Olivares (notably Cruz anywhere near his best) but Guts and Numata, the latter especially who could generate some force by throwing himself into a Shoryuken) didn't get close to hurting him really, not from what we know of the former anyway.

Must get round to uploading Rose-Numata actually.....

I think I put it in here. Had Harada outworking him throughout I think. I know he got hurt a few times (in the last round as well IIRC) but I remember him hiring Medel then leaning against him on the ropes a fair bit trying not to fall into too many dangerous traps. Not boring, and he got hit a bit but I remner Harada getting much the better of it.

I might watch Rose-Harada again. I can't believe how good Rose looked. Harada was fighting well, but he was well beaten in the end. I haven't seen too many better displays, honestly.

I like Harada too so I wasn't expecting to enjoy the fight, but if you're a boxing fan you just have to admire the skill on show. Not just on the part of Rose, but also Harada who did play his part and had some success, albeit limited success. You have to watch it.

Edit: Someone noted on the YT version that Rose reminded them of Robinson. I have to to agree.

I watched Robinson-Maxim and Robinson-Graziano at my girlfriend's flat earlier. Amazing respect between the two at the end of the second bout.

Graziano: "I have to say, Ray is a great fighter. I wanted to see just how good. He's the greatest fighter I've ever fought. And he's a wonderful guy too. A credit to the sport."
Commentator: "You're one of the greatest hitters of our times--"
    Robinson (interrupting): "...of ALL times!"
Commentator: "...Did you feel you ever hurt Ray?"
Robinson: "I can tell you he did"
Graziano: "Well, I hit him with some shots, but I finally met my master tonight."

Matt Franklin vs Marvin Johnson II

Phwoar! Made Gatti-Ward look like Klitschko-Ibragimov. Saad's punching technique was almost flawless. The right hand that effectively ended proceedings was perfect. Incredible action fight.

I agree that Saad trumps Gatti for excitement, mainly because he's a great getting into those situations. Seen his K.O of Mwale? Picture perfect decimation.

No one better from that era to accommodate him than Johnson. You seen the first fight? Another 'Miracle' from Matthew. Mental.

One of my top 5 or so absolute favourite fighters.

I haven't seen their fight the NABF title yet. I've seen Lopez II, which has consistently been among my top 5 for a long time.

What do you think of him offensively, from a technical standpoint? I think his delivery is beautiful.

I edited when I realised I hadn't addressed exactly that question :good

Anyway, his best jabbing performance is the 1st fight with Lopez IMO.

I'm downloading the fight in full at the moment, but I've seen the knockout. Overhand right, left uppercut? If it is that one, yes, it's incredible.
