Why did Khan go to the US and sign with GBP?

If he would have stayed with Frank ****** in the UK. He would be a world champion with that one loss against Prescott. No way would he fight guys like Garcia, Maidana and Peterson. He would stay in the UK, fight a bunch of B-Level contenders on sold out arenas, make a shitload of money and retire with good health. From time to time they would feed him some washed up former champion ( like Barrera) to make him look good and thats it.
Khan talks like he wants to be the greatest fighter on earth etc but everybody who follows him on social media know that he is more obsessed with being a celebrity than anything else. Ive seen interviews when he turned pro and he was already talking about retiring at age 28. I mean come on, without one professional fight he was already talking about retirement.

I don't like Khan but he does genuinely seem want to fight all the big names, I think he believed in himself....maybe a little too much. So maybe that's why....

Anyway I respect him more than I do someone like Calzaghe....

Khan signed with Golden Boy because he wanted to become a 'global star' & it would give him profile in both Amerca & Britain. It hasnt worked out perfect, from what i read they are giving his tickets away, but his fights are on HBO. In the past British fighters didnt go to America soon enough but now our fighters are willing to go to America & get used to the feeling of fighting on a big bill before there big chance comes along (groves, Brook & Cleverly have all had a taste of fighting in America)
I feel the main reason he went to America is because Khan felt the better trainers & sparring is in America and that the experience of sparring in American Gyms would help him in the long run. I think that maybe he felt he was too good for our trainers. Agogo has now done the same & gone to America early. I hope he learns from Khan's mistake of thinking he was bigger & more famous than he was & takes it step by step.

    Believed in himself too much

Freddie took on the challenged (liked his speed) and his management did a great job... They know where the money and fights are at..

Turns out Khan's style is a pisstake for even solid boxers to deal with and he is pretty darn fast...

Was a great move.. now he is one of the top dollar guys in the sport... GBP must have seen that potential ... Just listen to Richard everytime he speaks about Khan now...

Huge ambition... That's all.. He mapped it all out for himself - The retiring at age 28 went out the window... If he can keep everything together for the next 2 years then he has a chance of leaving the sport how he imagined it.

He'll be out of prime within the next 3 years (speed, stamina and workrate start to go)... Shame Peterson F8cked him about & Bradley ran off.

Some words are blocked... Why? Some are offensive but others seem to be just alternate boxing sites...

    b0xingscen3 - blocked
    War ren - blocked
    esnews (sekbach site) - blocked

Most swear words arn't blocked.. just words which are racial like Paci and niggur - I'm guessing some posters liked to use these words in excess one upon a time.

The two halfs of your post contradict themselves.

Maybe the reason he moved to GBP was because he does want to be the greatest fighter on earth as opposed to a celebrity, eh?
