A good match,mainly because I dont think either encountered the others style in their whole career.Lean towards Howard landing while Hamed waiting to land the big one,but this might be wishful thinking on my part[unashamedly].

 

You'd think Winstone would box his head off but his defence wasn't great and in a firefight he doesn't have the dig to really hurt Hamed.

Look at how Barrera nullified him with simple boxing though, and his defence is even worse!.Slow feet too, on paper you would think he would have needed to get a busy sustained offensive output going to stop Hamed just walking in on him, but he never did.Makes me think a lack of power won't be much of a hindrance unless you're a medina or Tom Johnson level talent.

I think Hamed loses this much more often than not, but sure if Winstone got overconfident or sloppy he could get starched.

Maybe if Hamed was willing to cut loose and try like a bear when he was getting outboxed, but he's not that type.More the kind of fighter who becomes static and reticent to let his hands go when the play has been taken away.

Then again maybe if he had got the Barrera lesson years earlier before becoming quite such a deluded lazy egomaniac he would show more heart and will in that sort of situation.Tough to say with these things.

yeah maybe a younger version with more to prove would be willing to stick things out more and pressure if he's getting outboxed.

I tend to think hamed always had the same issues with getting off punches against good technical fighters though.If he'd had Herol Graham's footwork he might'v been special...

 

I am not sure about convincingly, although I would pick Winstone to win I would excpect a see saw type of fight that either guy could win. He would have to endure some tough moments, along the wyay and I give hamed more than just a punchers chance to spring that perfect punch type of KD/KO along the way...He would be in and could certainly win it...I would just pick Winstone by a narrow margin....perhaps slightly wider if this is scheduled for 15.

I suspect that even if Naz had had Graham's feet and balance he might have still struggled a bit to get shots off against technical types and cuties, though perhaps to a slightly lesser degree. His unorthodoxy disguised it to an extent, but he was just downright mediocre in taking the lead imo. Seemed to telegraph his shots and generally punch in a way that was easy to read once you got past the broken-washing-line-in-a-gale style or if you weren't recklessly taking the lead yourself.

He could definitely knock Winstone out, no doubt, or even make close by way of a couple or three knockdowns what would otherwise be a little bit of a boxing lesson. Winstone was quite aggressive in a textbook pure boxing sense and was open to good aggressive straight punching and countering, but I think Naz was nearer the winging hook type against which Winstone was adept at either catching shots on his gloves or slipping them. And he was gutsy and rugged, so Naz wouldn't be taking him out with one punch either imo even if he badly hurt him.

I'd still be dead nervous on Winstone's behalf, but I'd favour him to win a comfyish decision at his very best, maybe even score a balance related knockdown on the way.
