    Not really dude, haha.

Genaro and Corrales could be said to be better wins than any Arguello accumulated at 130, with Escalera and Chacon as the only ones you could attempt to argue for, and you'd be hard pressed. Manfredy was ranked #3 I believe when Floyd beat him, hot off of the Gatti win. Chavez was #4 and had been for a while, C. Hernandez was a top ten for a while. Both of them would go on to be two of Morales' notable career best wins (not among his best, but in the next tier).

The more I directly compare the two the more I believe it's Mayweather.

No argument from me, i think Mayweather did a marvelous job that night but i think it would have been less one sided without the weight issues.

Arguello clearly has the better title record, thanks for posting this.

Thanks, I originally didn't think Mayweather would be #1 in the division (apart from H2H), but after seeing it here to compare, it's VERY hard for me to choose whose resume is better.

    On your resume:
Genaro Hernandez is greater than Escalara.
Jesus Chavez or Prime Rafel Limon...too close to call.
Angel Manfredy or Naravette - VERY close but I prefer Manfredy
I prefer Mayweather's other wins over Arguello's other wins.

Corrales-Chacon - now that is a very hard one
    Bobby Chacon's noticeable wins are:
    Boza-Edwards
    prime Limon
a shot Olivares who got a punchers chance win over Jose Luis Ramirez,
The best win of his career IMO - Danny Lopez, and he beat a few others. Chucho Castillo was shot.

    Corrales:
    Freitas
Casamayor - lost the rivalry against Casa
JL Castillo 1 - lost the rivalry against JL
    Manfredy
    Juuko
    Gainer
    Garcia

Meh, I think I prefer Chacon, but it's pretty 50-50 and I'm open to thinking either way.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now add to the fact that H2H Mayweather would beat Arguello and in general Mayweather looked more dominant than Arguello did against his opponents....

Erm...LOL I think Mayweather probably is the greatest 130 of all time haha, although I'd have to think this over a LOT. It's a VERY premature judgement.

    The next step is:
Did Mayweather's opposition have a style that was harder for him than Arguello's?

arguello at 130? really? He had a short career at 130, as short and as similar as pac's career at 130. Mayweather dominated 130 division for 5 years and established himself as the best at 130

Who besides Chavez and Arguello should be considered to have a better resume at 130 than Mayweather?
I'll take Mayweather over both in a fight at 130.

Goyo Vargas, former titleholder at 126lbs, who had come into this fight off wins over two time 130lb kingpin Tracy Patterson and a then undefeated Ben Tackie. Dude was a legit contender, even if he was past his best.

Super Feather was not a contested division in his day. He had fights at or around 130, but dose not have a better resume than Mayweather at the weight. Great fighter and a three weight champion, but not at 130.:D

The manner in which Floyd beat his opponents is why most rate near or at the top of the great 130 pound fighters.

You would have a point but you classed Corrales as a good win and the same for Chavez. That's dumb and you're dumb.

    Opinion void.:deal:bart
