Indeed. You could have a great little tournament just from the British middleweights, if you throw Irishman Andy Lee in there too. Lee Macklin Barker Murray Maybe even Saunders. Few big domestic bouts there.
I really hope so. But you'll get **** like, one will move up. One will lose to someone unexpected. One just inexplicably won't fight for a year or get tied up in a two-fight series with someone of a lower class. And one or two WILL try to tread water and make money without taking risks. Because one or two always do. If we get two fights out of that lot, i'll be overjoyed.
First of all I hope Pirog makes his comeback soon as it seems that he's the only one who's keen to fight GGG. Pirog-GGG in 2013 please. :hat
If he does comeback the only reason he will fight GGG is because Pirog needs to get back on the mix and GGG is a good candidate since he is now one of HBO's hype. No one is afraid of GGG, like his nutthuggers claim, is just that he is an unknown and doesn't bring any money to the table. But with HBO backing him up that is soon to change. Martinez was on the same boat and he had to move up slowly to the top too, been on fights he wasn't suppose to win (Williams I, II, Pavlik) or fights he was robbed in (Cintron), not until he got a good amount of fans (as per HBO stats view) and HBO backing did Martinez was able to get the "money" fights. I think GGG is going that route too.
Martin Murray to face Martinez. Here's hoping he pulls off the upset, but it's an absolutely huge task.
I think its a super division. We have an exciting kingpin, a couple of dangerous looking up and comers and a whole host of guys in and around the middle of the rankings who are evenly matched good quality fighters whom matched in any combination would make for exciting fights. Oh and then there is darren barker. Lock up the women and children. It could get ugly
