BECAUSE, foreman would NEVER, EVER,EVER get into the ring with him,

who wins is hard to say
but its interesting that everyone will tell you how big and powerful
foreman was, and no one could stand up to him and had to move

BUT in the 80's and early 90's he fought cruiseweights mostly

and you mention ruddock

ok but foreman who you say never had nothing to fear from strong guys that would stand in front of him
some how never fought

FOREMAN usually fought guys that could not stand up to him
and picked those guys well

I agree. Another thing is Foreman in no way would close the gap like Tyson, so Ruddock wouldn't feel forced to brawl. I see it mimicking the Bonecrusher fight except nobody gets knocked down or stopped unless maybe Ruddock goes down and gets up quickly.

 

He made Morrison, Holy, Cooper, Briggs fight off of the back foot, four guys who i wouldn't call weak.

Very very interesting fight and a highly competitive one. A real shame the idiot New York boxing writers cabal of 6-7 individuals were too busy disparaging Foremans comeback with vindictive zeal and ignorance to realise this would have been a blockbuster.
Ruddock circa 87-89 was actually a highly mobile HW he could really move. But he abandoned this strategy in his career around the 2nd Tyson fight.
So in theory Ruddock has the tools to move and box but as you say he really lacked the ring IQ or discipline to do this. Ruddock was very cocky in the ring.
I see his blistering smash being negated by Foremans cross arm defence and Foreman would not have a problem with ruddocks power after all his second incarnation showed one of the best chins in HW history and noted punchers stewart,morrison,Moorer and Cooney couldnt dent him.
FOREMAN patiently walks him down, there is a knockdown or 2 along the way before he stops him for good in the 7th.

i also said it has nothing to do with boxing

and if you ever went to a gym, you would know a grown man with 17inch arms
is nothing special and is actually kinda on the smallish side for a heavyweight

 

holy and cooper were natural crusieweights

and i do remember holyfield standing up to foreman for much of the fight


that being said

i made a list of big strong heavyweights
of that time period

and foreman who liked pushing guys around the ring
SOMEHOW,

managed not to fight A SINGLE ONE of them

I really like Ruddock. Good puncher. Pretty trunks. That being said, by the time he was an established name he had discarded his underrated jab and instead tried to bang everyone out. You don't bang Foreman out. Instead, you hit him hard, repeatedly, until you start to become discouraged, and if you have nothing else to fall back on then he's going to hurt you. Razor had fantastic recuperative powers so in the event of a knockdown it's possible he could survive, but once plan A fails it's all downhill for Razor.

 

Nobody beats the Foreman of 1990 in 1990 except for Evander Holyfield and even that was a competitive fight for Holyfield at his best.

Ruddock was not nearly as mentally strong as Foreman and would've cracked under pressure.

A sub 8% bodyfat 17 inch arm on someone of normal height is big. It's not particularly big for anyone that's fat or is on gear.

 

No. Every one of them was on the backfoot the whole fight. Holyfield outmuscled Tyson, he was no weakling. Briggs, Morrison, Cooper were big strong guys and they all fought off of the backfoot.

 

Foreman was too slow and too easy to outbox by this stage. Against another puncher, I see him been beat to the punch and knocked out. Ofcourse he has a punchers chance but he also has a good chance of being sparked cold himself. In his prime he went life and death with Lyle, an older Foreman is allot slower with allot less fighting gas in his tank and doesn't do aswell in such a brawl
