Mundine's f*******s pulled every dirty trick in the book to take Geale's Titlle...

Well IMO Geale won the first fight so I can't count that as a great win for mandy..........Soliman fights yeah I'll grant the 2nd fight as that was a great stoppage win for mandy but the other two fights were like watching two monkeys throwing straw at one another........and Oz if you don't think mandy v Echols was a big fight at that time of his career then it is you who shows you no nothing my friend.......seriously think about it before you start dissing people.

 

echols was a good win at the time. but how good was echols really in hindsight?

 

It wasn't even good in foresight.

 

Echols had lost 2 fights in the previous 7 years, both were to the one of the best middles of the modern era.
From memory, most experts predicted mundine to last less than 3 rounds.

The bullet caused nerve damage and his record since then is bad. Not Mundines fault but thats why many people don't rate the Echols win.

I agree fellas but i'm trying to find mandys biggest fights that he actually won so it doesn't seem that I'm bias towards Geale who I know will wipe the floor with him next Wed night.........Echols biggest claim to fame was having two foul filled fights with Bhop & the being shot.......but for general promoting it was a big fight at the time for mandy & the general public of Oz........thats all I'm saying.

 

Looking back retrospectively is never an accurate thing.

* Echols fight at the time - Mundine expected to lose by KO
* Soliman 2 - Mundine was expected to lose although a 50/50 fight by bookies
* Thornberry was a slight favourite at the time and had recently gone 12 rds with Calzaghe.
* Siaca was expected to be a close fight
* Kessler was expected to KO Mundine
* Danny Green was expected to beat Mundine and he started favourite

As you can see Mundine won 4 out of 6 fights that he was expected to lose or 50/50 fights.
