Tiger and Hagler? Don't really think that match up is that exciting. 2 counter punchers, so it will probably become a chess match
Welterweight- Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Jose Napoles, Armstrong. Would maybe substitute Armstrong for Gavilan, Griffith, Walker or Lewis.
The only thing is, with Armstrong and Napoles they were both truly great fighters who would undoubtedly come off on the shitty end of this one because they were a bit small for welterweights. You get Armstrong down at 135 or lower (130lbs peak in my opinion) and he tears the place up, same with Napoles at 140lbs. A bit like putting Dick Tiger and Mickey Walker in there with some top ten all-time light heavyweights.
True. I think Napoles size wouldn't be too much of a disadvantage. Armstrong's would be. Would still be awesome seeing a fantasy era with them 4 in it. Was thinking about putting Hearns in, but his chin would probably not survive fighting Robinson at WW or Leonard (again).
I suppose but for some reason I think he fits more than at mw. Maybe Benitez would have been a better choice instead.
It would be but a bit harsh putting the latter two guys in there :yep Chuck Efren Torres and Charlie Magri in and you've got yourself a deal
Flyweight: Masahiko 'Fighting' Harada, Tae-Shik Kim, Jung-Koo Chang, Shoji Oguma. That would be a whole lot of fun!!! Light Heavy: John Conteh, Harold Johnson, Bernard Hopkins, Tommy Gibbons. Let's see this guys go at each other over numerous 10, 12 and 15 round fights. The adjustments, battle of jabs and enough feints to make you feel faint. Would be nice, although you'd need Hopkins to be in Tarver/Pavlik form throughout the 'era'. Something I've said a few times before; Saensak Muangsurin, Takeshi Paul Fuji, Tsuyoshi Hamada and Akinobu Hiranaka would make for a hard-punching festival of ten stone Asian violence.
Good for fireworks and his win-loss resume against the best isn't shocking either. Chionoi Vs Avelar would be a war come to think of it. Reckon the Thai might come off of it the worse though.
