    so i woke up this morning and i saw the results from the matthyse-dallas fight, and i gotta say some of you guys who are giving matthyse a free pass for coming in as a middleweight deserve to be ashamed of yourself, its funny how the same people hate on chavez jr for doing the same thing. coming into a contest 3 divisions above you're divisional weight is shameful. chavez jr and matthyse deserve equal criticism for it.

    Its not really frowned upon at all. Nearly every boxer cuts weight, some more than others. If people want to cut 20 pounds of water weight let them do it. Most of the time it does more harm than good, but nearly every fighter cuts water weight. It can be argued whether its right or not, but its legal, and he would not be on PEDs to MAKE the weight at all. If you have weigh ins the day before a fight, people will cut more weight than when it was same day weigh ins. That's just the way it goes. I have no problem with Lucas Matthysse cutting that much weight, SO LONG AS HE MAKES WEIGHT!

    Difference is Chavez Jr has a history of constantly doing this, and then on top of that, either gets busted tampering with the scale, testing postive for banned substances to make weight, or somehow missing out on the drug test.

    Wake me up when Matthysse does any of these, and then does it on a consistant basis.

    Coming in huge for ONE fight? Excuse me for not blasting him for doing something once that Jr made an entire career of doing.

    He does it again soon and Im sure you will start to hear more critics.

    son, as long as Matthysse made the weight category before the fight I don't see any problem ! :deal

    Chavez jr actually weight cheated, and was caught on using diuretics.
    Plus the times he got out of the drug testing, lost samples etc makes you know something always has been off with him.

    Now Lucas never had this before, but it's crazy to come in at such a weight. It makes Broner and Rios little boys in comparison. But we still don't know if he did anything illegal or just makes use of the stupid prior day weighin rules.

    I always thought Lucas seemed to be cutting a lot to make weight. At weigh-ins he doesn't look healthy. But 164 is a hell of a lot - something he doesn't look like in the ring. 20+ pounds would be noticeable. I think an error of some sort must have been made. Possible to get his previously in-ring weights?
