Sorry but Matthyse was a disgrace tonight. Which other JR WW comes in @ 164? Come on!

Terms are thrown around loosely, but that's how I know "blown up".

Well, bigger as in size? No, you can be bigger and weigh the same. But in terms of weight, yes. It's all in how a fighters body carries weight truthfully.

Yea. We all know Mayweather and Pacquiao could fight at 140 but they feel very comfortable being able to eat the day of the weigh in, and not stressing their bodies etc.

Matthyse was 150lbs vs Olusegun and Soto, strange he was 163 tonight. Must have been an error.

I'd need further proof that he came in at 163.5 lbs because I think this is a little far-fetched.
    I mean 24lbs?!

Let's not forget that a result like this is to be expected from Matthyse. Mike Dallas is just not as rigorous as the likes of a Judah or Alexander.

Boxing should go back to same day weigh-ins or at least have a rule that boxers can only put on 5lbs max after the weigh-in otherwise all we really get are catch weight matches

Wether he broke any oficial rules or not, weighing 24 pounds over the official weight limit on fight night shouldn't be legal. There are junior MIDDLEweights who don't weigh that much on fight night.

I have to wonder though, where the hell did all those pounds come from? He doesn't look like a huge JWW

I don't see the big deal at all. Matthyse made the 140 weigh in limit right? He's well within his rights to rehydrate.

boxing would be better if it had same day weigh ins but that ain't the case. War matthyse.

I appreciate that 2 guys the same weight can have very different body compositions e.g. I am 5'10 1/2 225 but I sure as **** ain't Mike Tyson. I'm soft and overweight :patsch Tyson was a much "bigger" guy than I am at 220-odd pounds.

However, if you're saying 2 in-shape boxers can be a different size at the same weight (I mean fully hydrated in-ring weight) I can't agree. I agree certain body types look bigger (e.g. a taller guy who is muscular with broad shoulders vs a shorter guy with bigger legs- the tall, broad guy tends to give a bigger impression imo) but that's not the same as being bigger.

I agree. Lucas said he was a clean fighter, and I believe him. He did not look that much heavier than usual in the ring.
