Yeah I had to laugh when Ward said Froch and Kessler were using his name to build theirs. Froch and Kessler are known and have fans all over the world. Outside of a few hundred people in Oakland, if you ask 50 boxing fans, maybe 5 have heard of Ward, he has no fans

 

Yes the Mecca of boxing does matter. That's how you get P4P status and become a legend fighting on US tv infront of a world wide audience

Hes name dropping them because they both never shut up about him. Froch says he wants Ward after Kessler in every single interview he does. SAys he knows what do do in the rematch etc. Kessler keeps saying he wants the fight in Denmark and fight fans never stop about the same thing on his twitter and forums just like this thread.

 

One thing I don't understand is why does Ward keep going on about fighters not coming to him with offers? Why doesn't his promoter do his ****ing job and make an offer to the fighters Ward wants?

 

Ward is rated in the P4P top 3. Many think he should be 1. Obviously someone knows who he is.

Who knows Froch outside of Brits looking to latch on to the one descent fighter they have.

Ward is the one in trouble here, he is the nr 1 in the SMW division but has run out of credible opponents to fight. He already beat Froch, Kessler, Abraham and Dawson handily and now Pavlik retired. Also Ward is not a big draw in the US, he never even fought in Las Vegas let alone headlining a show there.

Froch and Kessler both nearing the end of their careers and don't need to fight Ward again. Froch - Kessler II is easily the biggest money fight in the SMW division. After that Froch can have a rematch with Bute in Canada for another big purse and Kessler can fight Abraham, which is a big fight in Germany.

So I guess it will be hard for Ward to get a big money fight anytime soon and he might have to travel to Europe to get one.

 

Americans dont know who brought home gold in the olympics and who won the super6? Froch or Kessler could never headline a HBO bill. They are big only in Europe
