I've asked on other threads and I'll ask here.Given that diuretics do not enhance performance, what PEDs enable a guy to make weight on the required date, then put on 24lbs of "disgraceful" weight over the next 24 hours?
People are so quick to bring out the PEDs and accuse that they don't even see that there's no logic in the claims.

I see your point, and do agree. Apart from the bold.

Diuretics do enhance performance, mainly because if the boxer cannot make the weight naturally through diet and training, the diuretics help him make the weight. If said boxer cannot make the weight through diet and training the bout does not happen (given they are resorting to diuretics, I'd assume even getting close to the limit is too much), or he is penalised in some way. If the bout does not happen due to a boxer not making weight, then diuretics enable said boxer to go out there and perform, in turn enhancing a none existent performance.

Not an out and out performance enhancer per say, but I would say it was personally.

We do not really know the circumstance of when they weighed him. Normally they weigh in when they are coming in, and they do it when they are fully clothed. Lucas might of been wearing jeans, a jacket, and had a bunch of crap in his pocket. He did not look that big in the ring last night.

I think you're being slightly pedantic with that Anthony. That's a bit like saying a protein recovery drink is a performance enhancer,in that it allows the person drinking it to recover faster than someone who doesn't drink one.
And I think I should point out for everyone's benefit that there's no question of Lucas using diuretics at this stage.

    There arent any.

Most people on this site have never even lifted, let alone know anything about PEDs.

Half of them wouldnt even know what Creatine is.

IIRC, the absolute limit for a 200 lb guy is around 20 lbs. (Without help from Dr. Feelgood.) - But that includes not taking a **** afterwards, and it requires serious carbo-loading. (and that does NOT mean simply eating a lot of carbs, look it up if you're interested.)

A fighter would not ever truly carbo-load as it would make his muscles a little stiff. - and 25 lbs would be THREE GALLONS of water. Without pissing it back out, where exactly are you gonna' store that?

Something is definitely not right here. I'm in the "the scales must have been off" camp. - esp since the two fighters looked to be the same size during the fight.

It would have been noticeable if he was 163.

Note: he was 149 for his last fight

Lol the whole "weight gained after weigh in" thing is sooooooo ****ing annoying

    Why does it matter? WTF???

A Middleweight fighting a Welterweight... Its been done before, and its how boxing works now... I mean, honestly if u don't gain more than 8lbs on fight night, than u could probably drop down at least 1 more weight class
