Pedantic? I'm not being pedantic in any way. I am offering my opinion on diuretics, and why I think they're performance enhancers. Never mentioned anything about recovery, never mentioned anything about them allowing a boxer to add "24lbs" after the weigh in, never mentioned any of the other subjects being brought up in this thread. And I certainly didn't imply that Matthysse used them.

Protein drink and diuretics are not even comparable really, let's be honest.

Fact is, diuretics are banned. IMO, they are performance enhancers, which is why boxers like Chavez Jr and others have been banned for using them.

 

On a slightly related issue.

People need rto get over the weight loss/gain thing.

How do you think guys got by before when there werent so many divisions?

When there wasnt super middle,feather,bantam etc weights?

25 pounds in one day ****ing ridiculous. This guy should be at 147 period. If he moves up he will get his ass kicked which is why he chooses to stay at 140 rather than moving up.

Becasue it's the same bull**** weight draining that Chavez Jr does to beat up on guys that's why. Move up and face guys your own size. Not only that he could be on something to cut weight.

 

There is a difference though. Chavez has been caught using diuretics. Matthysse has not, and did not look that weight to me in the ring last night.

 

Maybe he didn't but it's been confirmed that he indeed was.

 

Didn't look much different to his last bout. Slightly softer, but certainly not over 160lbs. Definitely didn't look 10lbs heavier than Dallas IMO.
