Mustafa Hamsho beats his ass. Taylor is the classier operator, but he didn't do too well against tanks with a punch in his career.

Horrible matchup for Taylor. He's well in front before the awkward beast punches a hole in him.

Taylor should do just fine as long as Hamsho applies no pressure.

I guess I must go back and revisit some Hamsho footage, because I don't see what everyone else is seeing???

I like Taylor 8-4 in a comfortable fight where he controls the pace...but perhaps I will change my mind???

Unless your name is Marvin Hagler, you're gonna have a hell of a time controlling the pace with THAT guy in front of you. Taylor doesn't have the strength, stamina, or inside skills to compete with a guy like that. Hamsho would absolutely steamroll him.

I think Taylor went downhill after Hopkins, he looked to have good stamina against Joppy and he was pretty good against Winky Wright, then he just got worse and worse. He was tense but I think he lost his stamina too

Taylor at his best I think can win a UD

Taylor would be unable to keep Hamsho off of him; he didn't move well enough and he certainly didn't hit hard enough. And once Hamsho got close, he'd simply work Taylor over. Very very wide UD or a late stoppage for Hamsho. He was the #2 MW, behind only Hagler for a long time and he beat many of the other top guys.

Hamsho was a legit top contender for sure and earned both his shots, but i don't think he ever was a clear number two middle for any length of time. Not in a Duran-Dejesus, Ortiz-Laguna, Monzon-Valdez sense anyway.

He got the first shot on the back of the Scypion, Parker and Minter wins, but Parker was a gift and Minter was very reticent and past his prime by then...he would be obliterated much more impressively by Sibson.

parker again, Czyz(a protected fraud who would do better at 175)and Benitez before the rematch.

It's not really any more than Sibson, Mugabi, Roldan, Davison...were doing.Hamsho was up there but not ahead of the pack.He just a better presence on the American east coast scene than most which was vital considering Hagler was champ.

he'd beat Taylor comfortably.Taylor was strained and couldn't contain the slow footed pressure of Pavlik, Froch and Hamsho brings much more heat than either, though not as much power but that wouldn't matter.

Jermain Taylor was spoon fed by HBO all the way to the top.

I can express it better, if anyone doubts it.

I think he looked utter shite against Ouma and Winky as well.

he was too busy looking for a knock out against a MUCH smaller boxer in ouma to actually outbox him. to paraphrase a previous post, he was too busy trying to win the fight to win rounds. that pretty much sums up his post-hopkins efforts
