Remember, they were already in negotiations with Mares through his manager who went around GBP and talked to top rank on his own. They DUCKED the $1 million offer and needed cover. I told you Oscar/GBP/Schaefer didn't want this fight from the beginning. They needed a way to scuttle it and try and make it look like TR's fault for the fanboyz. :yep

 

They're not going to write up every single ****ing detail up without talking to Donaire or his team and before he even agrees to fight.

Like Oscar said, if they don't like the offer, then they can neogitate

 

and look at the pinoys making excuses on how this is acceptable.

Mares gets alot of hate on this forum but the dude just wants to fight the best. I have been slightly leaning towards him winning a Donaire match up as time goes. He keeps stepping it up and looking great. dude always has a gameplan and follows through.


I think if the Donaire fight gets made he is going to jab Donaire for 12 rounds and mess him up. Donaire cant handle a jab and a team as smart as Mares knows this.

 

By the way Dan is now saying that GBP upped the offer to $5 million.

That's the thing. They ARE in negotiations. Again, Schaefer specifically said CONTRACT and not PROPOSAL. He certainly knows the difference between the two. The money could/should have gone through Mares's manager who was doing the face to face IF they were serious. Obviously they aren't. I think my initial assessment is holding up pretty well here.

People acting like Donaire is this cash cow need to realize that only in his last fight has Donaire made $1 million and i am sure Bob took about a 3rd of that anyways. Also Mares is the draw here not Donaire. Many times we have seen Donaire fights with empty seats while Mares packs the Staples Center no problem and usually has a full house. Donaire only gets butts on the seat when Rios is paired up with him.
