the thread was started because of what mares tweeted. i am now countering it with what nonito tweeted.

 

I hope with all these things, people come to realize how it's not so much the fighters, but the promoter/promotional bodies that prevent fights from happening. These are boxers, any time they fight in the ring potentially, they could get hurt badly. They are not afraid or ducking anyone. They are prizefighters, they just want to be paid and have their glory. The promoters have a lot of self interest, they promote, not fight, yet they get all the money when the fighter is under their promotional belt. This is how it is, and it sucks. So they protect their interest, because a fighter is $$$$ and that's it.

Boxing will be a hell of a lot better when we dont have to deal with this, and fights are made despite this nonsense.

Honestly bro, seeing as though you backed mayweather so hard, you should realize how these sorts of things work. It sounds like the contract was a bunch of trash, and didn't make sense. Like just accept this 3 mil offer, and they can have all the leverage to do whatever in the fight - ring size, rounds, gloves, venue, etc etc etc etc. No top fighter would accept that garbage, unless they are thirsty as hell for the fight and are getting paid over 10 mil or so, like Mayweather did with Oscar... but at least Oscar, when he gave the contract, had all his bull**** in it about weight, ring size, glove size, etc, so as to have the odds thoroughly stacked into his favor.

 

Why in the hell do Mayweather fans dislike Nonito? It's weird as hell. With his style, you'd think they would like him. Is it a nationality thing or something? They are doing the same thing pac fans did to mayweather, to nonito, being unreasonable when obviously its the promotional teams which have issues. No one sends a contract with nothing in it but the prize... lol that leaves them to do whatever, either that or they need to negotiate better and clear up all misunderstandings.

If this is the case, why would Nonito write what he did? I don't think Nonito is the type to lie. This seems oddly familiar to me, the same type of witch hunt that happened to Mayweather. Either Arum isn't giving him what he received, or something else is happening. As Nonito is a arrogant fighter, why in the hell would he turn down a fight with a guy who he is more skilled, has more power, more speed, hell even a better chin if you think about it (mares has been KD a couple of times before, and by an common opponent - although Donaire dont eat the quantity of punches like mares does)? Although I don't think he was ducking rigo, but it makes more sense, as rigo has on par speed, more skilled, and at least has more power than Mares, but a weaker chin. I dont get it. maybe im missing something. Mares was the person who NONITO called out after his last fight, it was rigo who he always tends to say nothing about.

Mind you, none of this is a dis against Mares, he is a superb fighter, who has proven himself. No one at that division, besides Nonito has proven themselves more. I'm just stating facts, none of which means Mares doesnt have a chance of winning, but he does have the cards stacked against him, statistically.

I don't dislike Donaire. I'm a fan even had him as my avatar. I always said he was the more skilled and better Pinoy fighter and it was him not Pac who they should be getting behind. I'm not bashing him but rather Top Rank.
