Frazier faced guys with Holyfield type skills, Bigger, stronger, maybe better boxers, But look at what Joe did to ALL of them, Ellis, Ali. And so on..Frazier always found a way.

Not really. Holyfield could fight outside better but Frazier was one of the greatest inside fighters in boxing history. Short, precise punches thrown in combinations. Under/Over Over/Under. Joe Frazier doubled and tripled those inside hooks mixing to the body and head.

As I said before Holyfield can fight better on the outside but it would be almost non factor because Frazier isnt going to let him keep the fight out there and Holyfield usually engaged into warfare himself.

Lets not shortchanged Joe Frazier`s skillset.

Thats true. Quarry was fighting for his life from the opening bell while Frazier was just warming up. After round 2 it was domination by Frazier.

I respect you LUFC, but if the fists of Foreman couldnt take away Fraziers heart, i dont see Holyfield doing it.

Foreman took his senses, not his heart

He really doesn't, Frazier's defence seems to consist of walking through punches and firing back, he bobs and weave at times but it's not hard to time it. Just watch his fights with Ali, Foreman, Quarry and Ellis. His offense is his defense pretty much

    Agree with his power

I'm not sure why you think Frazier's dictating the fight inside anyway, Holyfield would counter Frazier silly coming in and his superior footwork, jab and speed sees him pick Frazier apart on the outside. On the inside Holyfield can hold his own just fine with Frazier, Holyfield is probably the best infighter Frazier faced discounting Foreman

Haha, you are a riot. Einstein, I think if you could read, you would see that just about everyone agrees that Frazier is THE better inside fighter. Frazier was if not the best one of THE top infighters all time in the heavies. When you try and say he wasn`t all that inside, do you know how moronic you sound ??? Even people who don`t value Frazier as a great heavyweight champ, acknowledge that he was a superb infighter. Are you that stupid to think that it wasn`t because of Frazier taking the FOTC inside to Ali, that brought him the victory ? Keep osting cause we all need the laughs you provide :) :)

I always like your posts... Great mind, damn good opinions. But, the one about taking Frazier`s heart ?? Only one thing ever took Frazier`s heart and that was death. NOBODY fought with more heart than Frazier. He would still be climbing off the deck in Jamaica if they didn`t stop it. Say what you want about Holy maybe beating him, but to question Frazier`s heart or intimating that he`d quit is ridiculous ...

I`ll tell you this much. If the fight is as hotly contested as the debate is in here. It would truly be THE best fight of all time !!

I see you have the reading comprehension skills of a 1st grader... Find me a post where I said he wasn't a good inside fighter. You won't find it. Whta I DID say was that Holyfield imo would do just fine on the inside and even get the better of exchanges overall. Why? Because Holy is the bigger stronger guy WITH better footwork and better combination. Two KEY things on being a good inside fighter. Would you agree that Holy has better footwork? Would you agree that Holy is the bigger stronger guy? Would you agree that Holy put inside combination better than frazier and more variety of inside punches? Let's see how honest you'll be, and once you answer, then tell me how Frazier dominates Holy on the inside

I totally agree that Holy has better footwork (lateral movement) and physically bigger yes. But , footwork becomes a moot point once a fighter is inside( unless your shifting positions by stepping out or around your opponent). ? Why ?? As you crouch in ,bent at your legs, (orthodox fighters) fighter A`s left leg is inside fighters B`s left leg( limiting fighter B from rolling out or away). Arms criss-crossed (ala The ole Mongoose) you work the left hook over and under, under/over, mixing in tight right hooks as well. Frazier was able to outwork everyone he ever fought inside, with strength, tremendous skill( Eddie Futch) and incredible tenacity. Only Foreman and Ali were able to do him in. Foreman with incredible KO power (please don`t tell me that Holy carries that kind of clout) . Then Ali, who`s smarts, skills, and imcompareable ability to come back in all tough fights. Holyfield, while being a very good combination puncher, was not as tenacious as Frazier when it comes to working the body. I don`t get that you can`t see how devastating Frazier was to Ali`s body. And NO heavy could take it like Ali... As for comprehension my friend. This is boxing, not rocket science. I do actually have a clue as I have been around boxing my whole life. Spent considerable time with Goody Petronelli training my family in his gym. So, it may suprise someone brilliant like yourself to know that yes, I do have a clue with boxing. If you wanted to get me to buy into Holyfiels trying to beat Frazier by boxing and moving, I could see some sense in it. But, when you try to tell me that Holyfield is better than Frazier inside, I don`t think you`ll find much agreement from many people with that viewpoint. BTW, Frazier went to the body with TWO hands better than Holyfield. Under the master`s tutelage (Futch) he became more of a two handed fighter inside, not just banking on his left hook... BTW, I know I have first grade reading comprehension. But, please explain` inside combination ??? Combinations ? Or punching in combination ? Please help the painfully illiterate :)

See this is where we disagree..... Footwork can and does play a role in Holy's inside game... You can see it evident in a great number of his fights. He's still in the pocket, but he's throwing combinations and moving SLIGHTLY inside and out... rolling with some... stepping around at times.. etc etc. That is how footwork comes into play. Frazier did none of those things like Holy does. If you're asking me who is the better body puncher.. I wouldn't said Frazier.. never disputed that. But bodywork is only a portion of inside fighting. Holy would be throwing the faster crisper combination with much more variety than Frazier. The bigger and stronger would come into play.. if Holy decided Frazier was getting the better inside.. he could simply just push him off of him and create a little distance and throw more combos ala Bowe 2. Point is, Holy, even if you believe is a little inferior on the inside, wouldn't lose the fight based on that. He was MUCH more adaptable than Frazier.. If somethign wasn't working he has more tools in the shed to switch it up and get the job done. Certainly more than Frazier. Point is, even if you believe Frazier is better inside, the different isn't great enough to give Frazier a win, expeically when somebody brings much more to the table in ways to win. Pretty simple really.
