Who would you rather see Donaire take on, assuming all the legalities and cross promotion is sorted out: Mares or Rigondeaux?

Mares deserves the fight much more than Rigo does, but I would be happy with either one.

Schaefer turned the fight down.

http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/177035-arum-calls-golden-boy-offer-bull-schaefer-says-hes-making-excuses

Arum said he made a similar offer to Golden Boy for a Donaire-Mares clash on HBO on April 13.

"We offered a reasonable amount to them to fight, and I'm not going to negotiate in the media, but we offered them a reasonable amount to fight Mares on HBO on April 13, and they rejected that," said Arum.

4. Rigondeaux's never beaten anyone any good so doesn't deserve the fight. Plus it would be more boring because Rigo wouldn't engage at all/

Either is fine for me. Both can be hyped in their own ways

Mares needs to rematch Moreno with his cheating ass.

I agree, Moreno should get a rematch. Anyways, Mares deserves the fight more, but Rigo will be the better clash of styles and has a better chance at victory.

What would make the rematch any different, if GBP keeps paying off the refs and the judges? They may start penalizing future Mares opponents for punching Mares in the face.

Same can be said for nonito he won't engage & waits for his opponents to do so.Don't put it all on Rigo,I admit he's not the most exciting fighter to watch but neither is donaire.I appreciate technical fighters so doesn't really matter to me.

Donaire is a counter puncher by choice, but he'll press the action if he has to.

If you really believe GBP offered a legit $3 mill to Donaire and then upped it to $5 mill just go kill yourself. Read the article. Mares/GBP turned down an offer that would have paid Mares double his previous high to fight on this date and GBP had to come up with a story as to why.

Either would be a great fight. The Mares fight should have already happened by now after Mares won the Super Bamweight Tournament and Donaire was rated number 1.

Mares first then Rigondeaux.
