Was a story from Japan about Naoyo Inoue being able to tie that record. He bashed up Kuroda in sparing and Kuroda fights Reveco for a flyweight title next time out. Kuroda v Inoue in Inoue's third fight is very possible.

Jeff French held the record in the 90s with 192 days between his pro debut and his world title winning fight. 7 fights I believe.

You have to count amateur background as well

If you're talking about ALL experience...I think it'd have to be someone like James J Jeffries then. WV2 is worth a mention as well though.

The guy Jeff Fenech beat for the IBF belt had also won it early. I long ago forgot his name but he was Japanese and he won the IBF belt in his fifth or sixth fight.

Kostya Tszyu also won his first belt early, after around ten or eleven fights.

Dela Hoya was a two weight champ by his fourteenth fight.

How do these guys get title shots so early. Surely they don't have a top ten ranking after three or four fights?

Also, what sort of a champion agrees to fight a four fight novice? ......and then loses!

Anyway it's impressive to win a belt so early, but still I wonder how these guys earned their shot.

Can't be sold out with Thai fighter cause having their 3rd or 4th fight only means their 2Nth or 3Nth fight experience combined. They're pretty much seasoned fighting inside the ring because of their muay thai. They aren't prodigy types compared to other fighters from different countries.

I think Floyd Patterson defended his title against a guy making his pro debut! Isn't that sick?

Exactly, those including those muay thai, mma, or any contact sport should also be taken account for cause it pretty much adds up a boxer's experience when it comes to the boxing actual. It gives a fighter an edge compared to those fighters that actually started boxing without those kind of experiences.

Those aren't prodigy-type of fighters, they have muay thai background similar to those boxers that have amateur background.
