Anyone else think Kessler is on the slide? (or half way down it?)

I fancy that Ward beating might have done for him. The war with Froch strait after didn't help either.

I haven't been overly impressed with any of his comeback fights since his surgery. He looks a little slower, a little more sluggish & flat footed. It's all a bit weak and flimsy for me. He's ready to fall I fancy

I wouldn't be surprised if Froch stops him.

    Thoughts?

He looked pretty good against Magee, who is no walk over. Kessler also completely sparked Green in a pretty brutal KO. He did get put down in that fight which is unusual for him but he certainly doesn't seem to have lost any fitness or agility from what I saw of him offensively.

He's maybe not quite at the level he was a few years ago but he is not far from it in my opinion. He can certainly hurt Froch and I definitely see their fight as 50/50 all the way I don't see Froch as the favourite although I really hope he wins. Froch struggles against agile boxers that throw quick combinations as we saw against Taylor until he gassed and Dirrell who many think he lost to. Kessler is pretty sharp still and so long as his punch resistance hasn't seriously gone walkies, especially as he has always had a good chin, then he definitely has the skills to beat Froch in theory.

When Froch fought Kessler it was Kessler's last shot at the big time. If Kessler had lost he'd of retired. Kessler v Froch for Kessler was like Froch v Bute for Froch it was do or die. Froch got the best of Kessler whereas Kessler got a slightly under par Froch. Froch will have too much for a slightly faded Kessler and will take control of the fight from the eight onwards either forcing a late stoppage or winning a comfortable but competitive point decision.

He just doesn't look particularly solid to me. I can't quite out my finger in it. He just seems a bit weak. I'm not convinced the punch resistance is there anymore.

Carl Froch could be stopped in this fight.

I know what you mean his legs just seemed slightly shakier than usual against Green in particular but then when I saw him against Magee he looked great and put on a pretty flawless display. We can't forget he had a long lay off and maybe fresh although Froch hasn't really had a tough punishing fight since Ward which wasn't even exactly war and will be in good shape too so it's tough to call!

33 years old, 15 year career and 48 fights, he's bound to be a bit shop worn, still a very good fighter though and could very well beat Froch again.

It's pretty much a last fight for either of them if they lose. Would Froch carry on if he lost? Maybe one more fight against Pascal or something? I think Kessler retires if he loses and maybe if he wins so they're both going to leave it all in the ring.

I do think someone will get stopped and it could either be Froch from body shots or Kessler from head shots.

Green is a big puncher, so i think it is a plus! That Kessler took a big shot! Got up! and ended the show!

I have a feeling, Kessler is going to connect with straight right hands down the middle!

He will no doubt land a few and hurt him but I can't see him stopping Froch, not in a million years.

Kessler dipped Froch's legs in their first fight.

True, Im not saying its impossible, just highly unlikely, I think if Kessler was to ever stop Froch it would have been in the first fight.

I think if anyone was ever likely to stop Froch that he's faced it would be Kessler but he really hasn't ever been in any real trouble in his whole career really. I've never seen him hanging on, he only got put down against Taylor cos he was off balance and he wasn't really hurt at all. It's a fascinating fight.

i thought he looked on the slide in the froch fight and the one after it his judging of distance seemed off and his punches seemed less accurate, his work was less polished but recently I think he has been looking better. It could be down to make matching who knows
