My prediction wasn't too far off.

Was fairly confident that united would beat Southampton and the draw in the classico was the value bet. It was a first leg after all.

Atletico 8/11 vs sevilla. Atletico have won all 17 home games this season and hammered sevilla 4-0 a few months ago. Surely they must win tonight ? Think ill go heavy on them

Was in the bookies today and they were going through a list of Transfer Deadline Day specials in the form of phrases Jim Whyte could use, the odds on a few of them sounded decent but I was in a hurry so didnt have time to look through them properly or get a bet on them .......... anybody do any or know if any came in?

edit - just checked and it's for his first cliche only, **** that.

Yeah most likely but you never know.

This weeks ufc bets, picks & analysis

    Singles.

Ian McCall 2/1 over Joe Benavidez.

Two of the best flyweights in the world going at it here, both coming off losses to the champ mighty mouse johnson. McCall did the better in his two fights, earning a draw in the first and losing a close decision in the second while Benavidez got badly down for 25 minutes in his title shot.

Both guys are good wrestlers with decent submission skills which should negate each other and turn this fight into a striking contest. In this area McCall has the advantage as the more diverse striker who likes to mix it up with kicks, knees & punches. He can also fight at range using speed of foot to dart in and out of exchanges or fight on the inside utilizing the thai clinch or pressing his opponent against the cage to use some dirty boxing. Benavidez always has that equalizer in his big right hand but he tends to get trigger happy which costs him activity and points.

At 2/1 McCall is some of the best value to be had on the entire card.

Damian Maia 13/8 over Jon Fitch.

Two top welterweights vying for a possible title shot. Both are ground specialists with mediocre standup, Fitch the wrestler, Maia the BJJ ace so this will definitely be fought on the mat. On recent form Fitch has had a bad two years, since drawing with BJ Penn in feb 11 he took a near year long layoff and returned by being knocked out by Johnny Hendricks last January. He bounced back by decisioning highly touted but untested Erick Silva.

Maia on the other hand was a top 5 Middleweight whose dropped down to welter and breathed new life into his career winning his first two bouts at 170 by submision. Its a tough one to call but going by recent form, size & the odds I'll take Maia but if your not sure stay away.

Edit, Francisco Rivera by KO over Edwin Figueroa when the odd are released.

    Accy's.

Not going to bother analyzing these as there all straight forward favs who will win without problem.

    Aldo, Overeem & Evans 11/10

    Volkmann, Woodley 1/1

    Hail Mary Accy.

Aldo, Overeem, Evans, Maia, McCall, Woodley, Volkmann, Figueroa 47/1

Its called a hail mary for a reason mate ha, but i did hit one once before so you never know. Both those accys should come through no problem espesially the treble. I'm loving Ian McCall, cant see how he losses and when the odds come out Ill bet on a decision win

Been stopped early though a couple of times mate, once against a 12-9. Might be a chance that even if Juanma makes a concerted effort to get a few rounds in this kid goes down to a bodyshot.
