This thread has slowed down lately so maybe to liven it up, how do you guys see a peak Steve Collins doing with our recent, current middles,super/middle Duddy, Lee, McGee, Macklin. I see him out-boxing Duddy, wearing Lee down and stopping McGee mid to late. Macklin is a tough fight to me, I fancy Steve to be just a little better at most things for Matthew, thoughts?
belfast is full of boxing clubs... if your staying near city center.. the dockers or immaculata r close 2 there:good collins wood walk thru all them boyz mentioned:good
John Duddy would have givin Collins a tougher fight than Macklin. Duddy probably had a better chin than Collins too. And to be honest, I cant see Collins out-boxing anyone, wasn't his game.
Collins chin had stiffer tests to be honest so it hard to compare chins. But I agree Duddy would have giving him a tougher fight and it would be hard to call ,I think Collins beats Macklin in a war Macklin has been down a couple of times so. What about Lee v Collins?
2 Clonmel lads in at 91+ for the seniors. I'd love to hear from fenoc, see who he fancies out of his 2 club mates?
Are they the final entrants up on the IABA website for the seniors? A few names missing that I thought would enter like Thurles Moran and Noel Summers. Dean Gardner 91kg + from Clonmel looked impressive in the inters he has a good youth background as well and left the sport for awhile. And I see the 91kg+ novice champion Michael McKeever entered the seniors too he did look a level above his opponents in the novices will be interesting to see him in this, big step up.
No Gary Sweeney either who said he'd be down to 81kg for Seniors after winning the inters. Hope McDonagh hasn't lost his way since he left the irish camp back in April.
I don't know, g-man. I'd love a time machine to see him and macklin get it on. Steve was not invincible, though he did win his last 15 or so fights.
